There were two Lightnings at the Test and Tune, one stock one on street tires and he ran 13.99....and there was a modded one with 13 lb pulley, intake, catless mids and drag radials....I ran him twice. The first run the clocks malfunctioned in his lane but I will tell you that I had him covered by more than 10 lengths, his time at the 1000' mark was 11.27 and mine was 10.21 so I was over a second ahead at the 1000' mark. I finished with a 12.202 @ 113.25 . The DA was 1753' on that run so it corrected to an 11.961@ 115.588. Our second race ( and Brad will post the video ) the Lightning pulls a -.151 REDLight...but that was his only lead of the night as his 60' was 2.051 and mine was 1.784 so the race was decided quickly.....any way he finished with a 13.594 @ 100.67 and I finished with a 12.189 @ 113.86:rock: ..a margin of victory of 1.405 (about 14 trucklengths):D . The DA on that run was 1495' so it corrected to an 11.989 @115.799 . My first run of the evening was against a Mustang with spray, I ran 12.274 @ 112.41, 60' was 1.760 (my best of the night) and the Mustang ran 12.982 @ 114.12 so I had him by about 7 truck lengths. The DA on that pass was 2184' so the corrected time was 11.962 @ 115.409....at least I'm consistent. All in all a good night and killed two Fords:rock:

i noticed with alot of lightning alot of guys run different time stock. I beleive weather, DA, track elevation plays a big roll in every car/ truck E.T

Very true our SC motors are more sensitive to climate change that a NA motor

I have always heard that the other way around.

It is the other way around... and I've been running forced-induction vehicles for nearly 20 years (which certainly doesn't make me an expert, though).

I've had two Lightnings... a '99 and my current one (which my son is buying from me...I needed a larger truck, so a pristine '05 SRT QC took its place). The '99 ran 13.8 @ 100mph in 95^F heat bone stock. Track is at 600+' and obviously the DA was horrible on that day. That being said, I seriously doubt it would have run better than 13.4-13.5 in cool, dense air.

My '04 ran 12.8 @ 109mph with 93 octane, mild pulley swap (4# improvement over stock), cat-back exhaust (but stock headers, stock cats), and a CAI. The DA was good that day, but in N. Texas it is almost never below actual altitude, so at best it was "sea level air." FWIW, in this exact config, the truck made 393rwhp/454rwtq. Seems like a high mph for that RWHP, I know, but the "area under the curve" is very good due to the positive displacement blower. So while peak HP #s aren't always that impressive, it will run a decent time. I never ran the truck with the Kenne Bell blower on it, which put out 460rwhp/535rwtq, but it certainly ran low-12s on street tires easily...as I outran a number of 12.2-12.3 vehicles that I knew were documented to be that fast (one was a friend's stock C5 Z06, which ran 12.3 @ 116mph...we didn't race top-end, but 0-120... he was ~2 cars behind me, but would have closed over 125mph for sure).

The only time it isn't "the other way around" for a FI motor is if it is heat-soaked really badly, especially with the more sophisticated late-model computer-controlled setups which tend to pull a ridiculous amount of timing (more than a N/A setup) to stave off potentially engine-destroying detonation. But otherwise, a properly set up FI motor (or nitrous motor) will always show less effect on it due to varying DA's.

You are Wrong.
I've been racing the Lightning for over 5 years and I can tell you colder the air the more HP the Lightning makes. Simple reason, colder denser air can be compressed more. More air in the Super charger more air in the cylinder = more HP.
If its 95 degrees and a DA of +1000 feet I'll run 10.5's If the temp is 65 and the DA is +1000 I'll run 10.2's
My engine and trans are always cooled down before every run. I use 3 fans. Clint (Chubs)on here knows, He's been out to the track plenty of times to watch me..
Don't believe me go on the Lightning forum and ask the guys what weather they run the fastest in.
