Hi Guys,

Thought I'd start a thread with real world MPG figures for these trucks. If you could please log at least 1 drive carefully under normal driving conditions, ie: overtaking, a few launches, cruising, city & highway then log what you made here. I could careless but for some it's a nice figure to know.

My 2006 Regular Cab Night Runner isn't stock: Headers, catless mids, 3" catback, CAI, Roe TB and Roe SCT Tune. I logged a drive on the way back from a NZ MoPar weekend I organised recently. A full tank (98 litres) from Waiuru, which is 270kms (168miles) (just under a 2-3/4 hour drive) to Upper Hutt (my city). I used 50 litres (just under half a tank) and made 15.2 - 15.3mpg.

I have and never will care about MPG and economy (the smallest engine I have currently is a HO 4.7L V8 (+ mods) :p but for what it is, 2.3 tonnes of MoPar and an Est 570-580hp, not bad IMO. If I drove without getting into it (WOT) I think 18-20mpg is achievable. Not sure how though being what it is but this is calculated from the real world.

:)

with the roe in stop and go I am avg 13mpg, on highway between 65-68mph 23mpg. then when pedal smashed, the lowest ive seen it go was 6mpg:marchmellow: :marchmellow:

Lowest was 4 MPG. (That was on my first tank of gas.)

Highest reading I been able to achieve has been 19. Driving like an old lady down I-40 in the slow lane at 65 MPH tacking around 1300 rpm.

Still 14 mpg (my average) is not too bad for a 8.3 liter brick going down the highway.

I figure if I wanted to get MPG, I would just drive the Nissan, or drive one of my Motorcycles.

I average about 12.4-12.7 in town with a heavy foot and 16.5 average over a 500 mile trip running 80-85 with a few blasts mixed in. I'm perfectly OK with that! Well worth it.

worst: 5.8 (roadcourse)
best: 17.8 (hwy)
best full tank trying (just to see)15.7
average/normal tank...maybe a trailer or two: 13's (i usually fill up at least twice a week)

13.3 Highway driving. 11.4 Around town stop and go. And yep its a 05 QC. When I came back from the mountains last may, I got 35 MPG (all down hill) but goin up I got about 5 (LMAO).

i average around 8-10mpg its all in town driving, 11-13mpg highway. I haven't reset my overhead in a month or so it currently reads 8.9mpg. I usually ride around with half a tank or lower also. (lead foot :burnout: )

I've seen 2-3 mpg just resetting it and smashing it to the floor

Just back from my Thanksgiving day trip to Orlando and back. Both ways I got 15.1. Most of the driving after I got out of traffic was 80mph @ 2k RPM

When driving back from PCB in September on a full tank of gas, cruise control set at 68 mph and in 6th gear the overhead console rose to 28 mpg and held for a loooong time. On long highway driving trips I would see an average of 19.5 - 24.0 mpg.

On my recent trip to SAR I averaged 16.4 according to the display. Thats about 300 hiway miles at 70 mph, 5 trips down the track and some idling. Normally it gets around 17.3 on the hiway in 6th at 70.

It most likely your display needs recalibrated. :dontknow: :dontknow:
how many miles did you get from that tank? With your average, you would have gotten almost between 487 to 600 miles.

Thats the big difference between the 04-05, these 4:56 gears drink more gas!! My bro-n-law (hemibates) gets around 20-25 on the hwy with his 04, with cruise set, but I'm lucky to get 18 doin the same:dontknow:

On a full tank of gas for a long trip I always clock over 400 miles a tank. And the calibration isn't required because when the DTE says I have zero miles left to empty, it means it. Besides, I never said it stayed on 28 mpg for the duration of a tank. The averages change as driving conditions/habits change.

That's what makes me reluctant about installing 4.56's. I have a set in a box that I am debating on installing, but I like my gas milage the way it is thank you..

my overhead showed 28mpg once, I was going down hill, in neutral, with the wind to my back:D It didn't last long:burnout:
