As far as him being a jerk on that one thread started about somebody trying to get help for their house...that was low. But I'm pretty sure I've kicked a dude in the ballz before...but that was in a fight where I thought the guy was gonna hurt me. Not on a forum where we just talk shop, smack and boobs!
Either way, I can't say that talking it out is detrimental or beneficial on this forum anymore...one wrong word typed out here can be seen as inflamatory even when you dont mean to be...I don't have any change on me, so that is a free statement!![]()

In so doing, we prevent the VTCOA from being a family with a lousy reputation and (as a result it is) a much nicer place (in which) to spend one's time.
Yer welcome.

Django said:Sorry, Kris. But this was not an actual and literal attempt to ban someone. The forum doesn't have those specific democratic rights. Most people know this. It was symbolic exercise to express disapproval with one individual.
Anyone who's so devoid of human quality as to start a thread titled "which celebrity would you like to see dead next", deserves (in the very least) to have himself placed under scrutiny- and if that results in a majority expression of disapprobation, then justice has been served.
For the record, that has not always been the case.
Most of this forum is silent on just about everything. The majority (literally 1000's of so called members might occasionally) come here to derive information about the SRT-10 truck. They read tech stuff at their leisure or possibly even just show up for some light entertainment. In short, they don't really don't give a shit one way or the other. (They have no actual investment here)
The tiniest minority- those of us who've thrown ourselves headlong into this family- are the only ones who are willing to take responsibility to make mention of questionable people and their irresponsible acts. In so doing, we prevent the VTCOA from being a family with a lousy reputation and (as a result it is) a much nicer place (in which) to spend one's time.

When it's time to "Hold the Line"...you guys know where I will be...![]()
Django said:Only 4 people here can ban someone. Other than that, "ban" is just another kind'a "cuss word" used to put some pazzazz into the rhetoric.

One- They are heavily moderated and their is no name calling, profanity(of any kind) or personal attacks allowed.
Even with their strict guidelines it is a very succesful forum and have tons of tech stuff to read.
2nd---a forum where profanity is allowed thruout the forum, tons of personal attacks, sarcastic remarks, you name it. Everyone there just talk shit and their are very few helpful posts but overall is still a succesful forum.
I have found the vtcoa is a happy medium of the two. Their are members who have been here since its inception(vtcoa) and hell even when SC'rs kits were still prototypes and trucks were still being bought for 45k--plus....
All of these members work really hard to develop the forum to what it is today. Although are mods do a great job of letting things run their course around here their are still members who like to keep the place a certain way.
however with time most of us will move on as many have and well I only can help this place will stay true to its roots and be for the members and by the members. Before more members stop posting as trend has been going
That's good to hear Jeff. I hope you are here for a long while.ViperJeff said:Us lost souls have no where else to go

Most things on here I find are on the positive side even in the face of loss. I realize that as bad as things are, I'm still fortunate. In carefully considering this thread given the two options, it is a benefit.
One, it reminds me of who I am and what kind of person I would hope people see in me.
Two, everything I type is a reflection on me. Not any one else.
Three, true friends are hard to come by, why squander that opportunity.
Four, we should always care, even when we don't want to. I will have to admit on this one there are still people on this forum that I wouldn't help. Mainly, because I just don't like them. I don't respond to there posts and I don't wish them luck or observe moments in their life. I may need to work on this one (maybe).
Five, all the money in the world does not improve character.
Six, Self importance, well, is exactly that.....
Seven, Just because you can, should you.
Eight, Tim, John and Roy's post should be read carefully, if you have to ask why, you've never read their posts carefully.
Nine, the truck may have brought us together, friendships are what keep us coming back.
Ten, I will miss Miss Loosey every day......
For most, this won't mean much and quite frankly maybe it shouldn't. These are things that I've learned over the years and I'm sure I will remember them for a long time. I've learned to not burn bridges and try to repair ones that are still mendable.
So, back to the question, was it a benefit. Yes....
The reason for yes, is it should give people the insight or maybe personal commitment to read and learn. What they learn if anything is up to them
