I hope not.

Everything will happen as it should. If its meant to be, so be it. :)

A few things need to happen before I can do anything. The selling of my truck AND replacing my Jeep. It isn't going to pull a 22-26 foot boat. :D And as I stated before, I need to figure all the costs associated with it and see if its worth it. . .;)

You need to make this a poll

Youll get your answer that way!

Find some friends with a boat. Pay for all the gas and you will be WAY ahead of the game!

One of my best friends has a boat. . . Whats his is mine applies in this case, but he's upgrading to a 40' cabin cruiser. I've wanted my own boat for a few years, but never really actually considered it until now. . .

If I had to choose I would keep my boat and borrow a friends truck to pull it to the lake. The best days of my life are spent floating!

Thats a damn nice boat!

Do you keep it at the house or at a marina?

I also ran the idea by my dad. He's pretty good at evaluating things. I'm kinda blinded at the moment, so to speak. He thinks a boat is a better "investment" than my 500HP truck. I don't get to use the truck to the fullest of its ability.

He also had a boat when I was young, but had to sell it. He's wanted one again ever since, but wasn't able to financially. I thought it would be cool to let my folks use it some, or them come out with me and show em around the lake. Maybe they'll get another boat too.

WASSUUUPP!! Sorry it took me so long to chime in but I've been out ENJOYING MY BOAT since thursday!!! Your call bro!! I am fortunate to be able to own both. I have had boats since I was old enough to know and wouldn't be without one! I can tell you that some of the best family moments with my boys when they were young were in boats and now they have their own familys and my youngest (26) has his own boat and my oldest (29) is looking at his first.:D

Resale

I have had a boat in my life Forever, however, I would check out the blue book prices on similar used boats.

Most small craft prices drop like a rock. There are some that hold there value IE: Cobalt, Boston Whaler, Grady White, Thompson (got one),
Sea Ray and some others. Do some homework before the sales person works you;)

There are many used boats out there at a Large savings( most of whch have had little use and have lots of extra goodies already installed ) just have a survey done by a reputal inspector before buying and they will let you know what you are getting into, right down to the hose clamps:idea:

It is a buyers market. My .03 cents worth

always had boats too, live on the lake, we used to drag one to high school to tube and kneeboard after school so im partial to having one, i bought one as soon as i could afford it, id say keep the truck and find you a nice used one for 3 or 4 grand, find a repo auction close by you'd be suprised what you can find. got a buddy that has one he only paid like 2500 for it and he has ran it for 5 or 6 years with minimal cost, dont know if he has spent a dime on it other than service, its got a 305 with fuel injection, we are planning on updating the interior this coming winter.its perfect for towing the kids around and not having to worry about the kids destroying it.
