My ’05 QC, the fast red one, while traveling out in West Texas this week in 85 to 103 temp showed the following readings.
At 80 mph and 90 degrees the temp was 195-198 and the oil was the same.
At 80 mph and 100 degrees the temp went to 205 and the oil to 210
Slowed to 70 mph and the temp dropped to 198 and oil also went to 198
Kick it back to 80 mph and the temp and oil went back up.
Turn off the air conditioner at 80 mph (ain’t fun in this weather) and in a couple of miles the temp and oil went back down to the 198 area.
Realizing most of you guys will never see 100+ temps just thought it was interesting. Have always wondered about a radiator that would hold 3 to 4 more quarts. If you take a look at ours you will see that an extra row or 2 could be added. When the temp is over 205 and you turn on the heater the temp really goes down. Any thoughts and has anyone experimented with a larger radiator?
