I'm installing a Roe Throttle body and it says I have to grind the threads off the original throttle plate screws from the shaft. I have no dremel. Is this step necessary?

YES! otherwise you risk breaking off the screw inside the shaft. The screw ends are smashed to prevent them from backing out

the screws are a pain to get out with out breaking them, i got one out with out grinding and broke the other and had to use a easy-out on it. go slow and work them back and fourth, just dont force them as they will break easy.

Grind them. Tried the back and forth crap for about an 2 hours on one screw than I ground the back off. About 10 min latter I was done. I had to use a table top grinder on the shaft to get it to fit on my xmetel TB and had to sand the TB it self since the throttle would stick.

How did you use a table top grinder when the shaft and screws are in the throttle body.

I think he means after the shaft was removed it had to be ground to go back into the X-metal.

Use a die grinder to knock the mushroomed section off.

I used an air grinder, worked like a champ.

You should of hit me up bro, we could of did all of this in my boys garage. would of helped ya with it.
