None taken. We used to live here then moved up to connecticut. Just moved back 4 months ago. Funny thing this is my first speeding ticket. I used to think you get some points and pay a fine, nope you don't.

Its not the world it use to be. When I was in High School, I got pulled for doing 147 in a 45. I didn't even get a ticket from that one. Try that again at the same place today, I would end up without a truck or a license.

What do you mean break the law when they write them? Most of the time its a judges decision to throw something out not necessarily a law thats on the books.

"WELL, YOU HAD TO SPEED TO CATCH ME!! SO YOU HAVE TO WRITE YOURSELF A TICKET!!!"

you where only goin 3 over technically speaking you can be that most vehicles spedos are off 2-3 mphs and they know that your speedo could of said 55 and you where doin 58 most states this will be th rown out with a lawyer. In illinois anything 5-8 miles over the cops don't do anything. The cop was probabally a lightning owner, just spend the 200 or 300 bucks and get a lawyer anyway to save your ass from your insurance.

What are you talking about? (...cops break the law when they write them?) You got off on a technicality, that is not breaking the law on the cops behalf. You got damn lucky, period.

Don't blame the cops because you get caught breaking the law. That's your fault not the cops.
 
Bull!!!!! Cops give each other breaks!!! They write tickets hoping that you will pay them without finding out that you are well within your rights to have them dismissed. Before you pay a fine read the laws and find out if that fine was written within the law or not! I'm not lucky, I'm smart. I don't run around like a bobble head dog because some jerk off with a badge says I'm wrong!!!!!!!!!! I read the laws hire the right people and beat them EVERY time!!!:rock:
 
My two cents is this... I love to speed i love to drive too fast thus I have prepaid legal. I pay court costs and i get off. Its like being really rich and always having a lawyer on your side. i had a 92 in a 65 with reckless... disappeared, reckless and 78 in a 70... gone, how about totalling a brand new truck on the highway (rolling it) doing 80 and got reckless driving, yep u gessed it also gone. Now I by no means drive reckless but NC law means you get reckless for excessive speed. Anyway, I agree in that if you do the crime u should be willin to accept the consequences or atleast protect yourself.

By the way in case you were wondering the service cost me 12.00 a month.

Since the insurance companies are the first ones to raise your rates 10% for the 1st ticket take a look at what a ticket actually costs you. For starters in a 3 year period until that ticket is off your record it's about $1,000.00 in insurance. Then the court costs of about $100.00-$300.00 plus time lost means a ticket can cost up to about $2,000.00 or more. So if it costs $250.00-$300.00 to beat it. You need to grow the F^&(*K up! You seriously would rather pay that much money to let someone who yes is dead F&)*ing wrong write you a ticket or say Hmmmm I'll bet he doesnt have his classes up to date or Hmmmm I'll bet he's not even qualified to run that piece of equipment cause that much trouble in your life. I'd rather live my way and say wow I can relax and I'm not going to have to worry about points on my license and fines and expense by simply getting it dismissed.
Yeah I guess I'm all wet!!!!:D

Going 3 miles over the speed limit is not a ticket I would have written if I was a cop. Having said that a judge might think the same way and dismiss if not reduce the penalty for such a minor infraction.

Go to court and see what you can do. Good Luck bro.
 
I guess the cops have nothing better to do there. I know a few cops and they said they will not pull anyone over unless they are going 7 to 10 miles an hour over the speed limit
 
Guys, I was joking on the three over. My ticket was for some multiple of 3. Look there should be reasonableness in every system. Everytime one of of you goes you did the crime and man up you are a hypocrite. You have all driven very fast many times, difference is I got caught.

So let me explain a little difference between where I live and the rest of the US. First time DWI under .15, 6 month suspended license, 30 day suspended sentence.

First time reckless driving over 90mph, 6 month suspended, 1500 dollar fine, 1 day in jail for every mile over 90.

Now before everyone takes the oh my gosh your an idiot for driving fast, remember 20% of all tickets written in VA are reckless. Reckless is 20 mph over any speed limit, or any ticket over 80. As an example 81 in a 70 is reckless.


All I was asking, just like many before was a kind thought before court.
