As most of you know, I have cancer and have had surgery to have part of my colon removed. I am also undergoing chemotherapy for at least the next six months. The chemotherapy along with the Fibromylgia that I already had is really kicking my butt.
This is what my schedule will look like for the next six plus months.
Tuesday I go to the Dr’s and they do a complete blood work up before the Chemo drip.
Thursday I go in for six hours of chemotherapy drip in the morning. I then go home, and a home health care nurse comes to the house and hooks me up to a pump that pumps chemotherapy into me for the next forty eight hours. There is a lot of stomach and intestinal upset with this and for a week after wards. I just about start to feel a little better and it starts all over again. And yes my hair is coming out in chunks, I hate that part but if little kids can deal with it so can I.
The chemo leaves me completely drained and feeling like I have been pulled through a knot hole backwards. It is very hard for me to concentrate and think clearly on most days. All the effects are going to stay the same or get worse, for the duration of the chemo, so I have been told.
I have not been able to hold up my end of the forum for some months now, and needless to say it has not been fair to Patrick in the least. Also OCBob has been doing a stellar job of keeping things going. I truly love this forum and want to see it continue and to prosper.
Because of the situation with my health Patrick, and I have decided to make a change, which we think will work out better for the forum in the long run.
Most of you know, but for the some that do not know, Patrick and I did not start this forum for any reason other than to keep a great group of guys together, for a place to go with our SRT Trucks.
And all fast hot rods and fun vehicles. Patrick and I do not want to see that mission statement change.
All the obligations that I have made will be honored on my part.
I will continue in our role as administrators, and OCBob will continue in his current capacity.
It saddens me to write this, but I hope that this is just another phase in the growth of the VTCoA.
I have not spoken with the new principal but Patrick has, and Patrick assures me that he wants things to continue as they are.
The Forum is one of the greatest things to happen to me in my life, because of all the great people I have gotten to meet. I thank you all, for your support and friendship.
May God bless you and yours throughout the upcoming Christmas and holiday season.
