I was just wondering how many 2006 trucks came with the factory tonneau cover that it shows in the owners manual. I thought it was an after market item until i was looking in the owners manual and seen the pictures on how to open it and all that. Thanks for any help

so how you likin your new toy man, i always like the 06's better on the outside and the mineral grey is my 2nd favey color behind the NR

I thought all of the 06's came with them as well. :dontknow:

seems like someone posted that it was an option &/or that there was a supply prob is way not all had them:dontknow:

Yea, i have an 06 NR and the options lists has the spoiler/wing option with the tonneau cover, but not all of them were installed at the factory and if you got a truck that didnt have one, you got 1000$ off the price of the truck to make up for the difference. Even though its over 1000$ to get one (not painted) from Dodge. Ive been looking for months now for a spoiler without any luck. Or when I do find one, the seller doesnt want to ship it......

I think dodge had some supply problems with them for a little while. Some came with out them but dodge gave them i think 1K towards one from there catalog.

If you find a place that has the Tonneau Cover and Spoiler let me know... Ive been looking for just the spoiler and its a bitch

I have been to over 50 Dodge/Mopar parts sites and even the Wrecked/Salvage sites with no luck.

I did find someone that wants to sell me the spoiler for 650$ and its black but they didnt ahve a link or a pic of it for me to ensure that its the spoiler that I wanted. I told them that id do it on the count that they will give all my money back and cover the shipping costs if its not the spoiler that I want.... I havent heard back yet.

I heard a story (remember this is only a story) that Dodge had a supply problem with the bed covers, so the customer was given the option of a $1000 of the truck or the spoiler for the bed. I dont even remember where I saw this, I am wanting to say it was on wiki, but not for sure. I am curious how many didnt have it, because I havnt seen any 06 SRTs without a bed cover yet.

From the Wiki (well, mine that is)
Exterior¶

The Ram SRT-10 had a unique hood that featured a wide power bulge and hood scoop, this design was improved upon by JTS Venom Performance, to include a larger buldge, with ACR style venting. The hood scoop allowed cool air to enter as well as forcing hot air to exit from the engine bay, thus helping the engine to run cooler. "Viper Powered" badges were added to the sides of the power bulge, to indicate the SRT-10 engine under the hood. Another exterior feature was a tonneau cover with an attached spoiler that was supposed to come standard on the 2005 Quad Cab version and all 2006 models, but due to manufacturing problems was not installed on nearly half of the Ram SRT-10s intended. To help remedy this situation, Dodge added a $1000 credit and a regular spoiler to the Ram SRT-10s that did not receive the tonneau cover. In addition to style, the spoiler also helped with air flow and provided a reduction in lift and drag. The Ram SRT-10 had a bed size of 6.5 feet (2 m), giving the regular cab an overall length of 17 ft 7 in (5.36 m), and 19 ft 2 in (5.84 m) overall length for the Quad Cab. The Ram SRT-10 also had a lower ride height than regular Ram trucks.

Last I heard is that all 2006's were to have the tonneau (except) for ones that were pre-ordered and the buyer did not want it, or removed at the dealership.

However...

Like almost everything else with the RAM SRT-10, dodge forgot to keep notes
