We are planning on getting rid of our 2010 Nitro. We owe 22 on it and its only booking 17350 trade in with a 20500 retail. Upside down on it, but fuck we hate this piece of shit. I also have a 99 durango as a spare vehicle. Still owe what the trade in is.

So we screwed ourselves out of 4,500 in negative equity.

The local dodge dealership, we have bought 5 vehciles from over the years, has 12, 2010 Chrysler town and country tourings $20-21,000. They all have 20k miles, in immaculate condition. One salesman told me today, they got them from auction, as AVIS car rentals traded in their last year models.

It seems like a bargaining chip. They had to have gotten these from the auction stupid cheap to have bought 12. And you know avis took pennies for them on their trade in. I know most rentals are beat to death, but its a van. The only time your renting a van is if you have kids, and you arent going to be beating on it with your family in the car (haha, that sounds funny).

Do you think i could get one of these vans low enough to wash my negative equity, and if i could would it be worth dropping 21k on these?

buying a rental car, is like asking a whore to marry you :D

As far as beating a minivan to death, well my friend rented a dodge grand caravan to go to disney world, he was not easy on it least to say.

My friend bought a 2011 dodge ram 4.7 quad cab, so far not a issue with warranty.

guess long as it's still covered why not :dontknow:

we buy and sell previous rentals all the time. They're fine especially at that mileage. I would inspect it yourself to make sure there's no undercarriage damage. the good thing about the 2010's is they all come with the 5yr/100k powertrain warranty

If they have 12 of them, try and get the "limited" model, the "touring" model is basically same as a Grand Caravan. The wife has a Limited and there's a few more options in them.

I thought yours was a Yellow Fever edition? :D

I heard somewhere that vans don't hold their value very well. Might be totally wrong, but something to consider if you don't plan on keeping it for a long time.

Go with what you can afford. If you can get a good deal on one of the vans and there is nothing wrong with it then why the hell not. As long as you don't beat it with the family in the car your fine. Only do that when you're alone :D

Is your old lady gonna really be happy driving a mini van or are you going to have to trade it in again in 6 months to a year?

Well we went and looked at it. Hated it. We liked a Chrysler Pacifica, Saturn Outlook XR, GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave. More to come.

i like the assend of the Pacifica.
