crawl up under there the pan on the tranny has quite a few bolts on it. take about half of them out and loosen the others up fluid will start coming out, youll need a big pan to catch it is a messy job regardless. i got a new gasket with filter but old one wouldve worked. if i remember correctly there's a crossmember in the way too. i'll look under it agian tonight at the house. its been a while since i did mine. i want to take it to a dealership and have the bands adjusted. ive heard it helps. dealer could change fluid out too about 100.00 in this neck of the woods.FlyingLow said:Still talking greek to me.

I have not. But I also have never heard anything bad about it either. The only reason I would have used the Mobil is because the engineers at Tremec recommended it. :dontknow:Stinker said:Stingray you ever tried the Redline sythetic?
The gear lube/syntorq that Red was taking about in the original post is only used in the manual trans. Yours can still be changed out to the sythetic ATF like FSTJACK did.FlyingLow said:Is this fluid only in RC's? If not then how do I change mine?
bucke77 said:just add a couple bottles (approx 8oz's) of mopar diff friction modifier to the t-56 trans cures all shifting problems.

I don't want someone to use the wrong fluid in the auto, based on the recommended fluids for the manual trans.
There is no filter in the T56, just a couple of magnets. To get to the magnets you have to pull the rear housing off the trans.Marc T said:Anyone have a part number for the filter in the manual??
