Hello everyone! I am new to this forum and am wondering if anyone can help me out with a problem on my 06 srt quad. I purchased this truck 6 months ago from a person who had a venom 1000 twin turbo upgrade from hennessey. Unfortunately since I've had it I have run into nothing but issues. I've called hennessey numerous times and all they could do for me is verify that they did do work to the truck, short of that they won't return calls and refuse to help me resolve issues with the truck. I've spent alot of money on a truck built by them and have been really dissapointed with their customer service. With that being said I seem to be have transmission problems now after spending 12k on a bad mannifold design set up! My transmission is going into drive but when it shifts into second gear it just revs like it's slipping. Can anyone help me out. I've only been able to drive the truck a total of two weeks in the period I've owned it! I had the filter and two sensors changed in the tranny to see if that would fix it and it still does it! No metal at all was in the fluid just your normal grime you would normally encounter.

Sorry to hear you went with a vehicle done by J.H. More at 11:00.:D Oh yeah welcome bro.

Take it to a real shop, and have everything redone:( I'm sorry you're having to go through this, but you're definatly not the first:mad:

Your experience with the builder is indicative of what everone has encountered with him.

You can do a search on the forum and get more info.

Search the forum for answers on the tranny and I am sure some will chime in and help.

It sounds like your band can no longer grab the drum and make the 1-2 shift for whatever the reason- A servo issue, a broken band, a severely worn band (although you said there was no fluid contamination). Pull the pan and have a look...in any case, it sounds like it has to come out.
Have the transmission rebuilt with parts that are good enough to withstand whatever power your engine is making. There are vendors on this site that can help you out.
This guy comes quite highly recommended-http://www.8-lug.com/tech/0904_8l_hts_performance_dodge_transmissions/index.html
I have had mine out several times and now it is right.
A TT installation will also require a transmission with all the best billet components and a good converter.

tell them wade sent you his way

I just sent off my transmission for the same problems, see the thread "Pulled my AUTO tranny" in Performance Mods section. I had a broken Torque converter, and dont be suprised if your clutches are burnt up. As for Hennessey, it would be nice if they helped, but he builds stuff not fixes things unless you pay. The only way your going to find out is to have it pulled, and if it wasnt beefed up, the twin turbos will KILL an auto trans easily. Hope that when you bought it the guy was honest how he treated it. How many miles does it have?

Thanks

Thanks for welcoming me and responding!!! I do know now never again JH!!! I will say doug levin motorsports in davie, fl has been a real help with the awesome new one off turbo headers he designed but unfortunately the auto tranny is not his specialty!

I bought it with only 6700 miles on it! When I did run it when I first got it it ran 11.3s in the 1/4

Awesome timeslip, sorry to hear it was the bad guys work.

Is this the Mineral Gray QC? If so, are you the guy I met at the Homestead Speedway during test 'n tune? Check out ATFspeed: http://www.atfspeed.com/ These guys know their shit about our transmissions. Sorry to hear you're having problems. If it's the truck that I saw, that thing was sweet.

Hey welcome. If youre out of Florida I highly recommend you check out ATF factory or automatic transmission factory in davie fl also. Ask for Jason he builds some badass transmissions, makes his own billet parts an recently took over and rebuilt another SRT-10 with a former hennessy TT build. The truck is wicked also!
Jason is your man for the tranny if you're in FL he's did mine and several other members here. Mine is a year into the build and running strong.

I was thinking the same thing about Homestead:D such a pretty truck it's just too bad it's always sitting on the sidelines:p

If you talk to Dusty at www.htstransmissions.com he will sell you a 48RE that is modified to work well in the SRT. He is a 48RE GOD.

If you do a search for Dusty HTS transmissions you will see the praise this man has earned and gets.

3000 with a billet converter shipped. estimated.

i guess i will be the asshole and ask what you paid?
Mine was under warranty. $2100 and some change total all new billet parts, added clutch packs and services included with a warranty thru him. Only thing I didn't get was a high stall tq. Convertor. ATF is highly regarded in the diesel world 48RE, gets customers from across the US sending him their trannys. The 10 auto is almost the same as diesel minus tq. Convertor and some internal parts! They do superior work and if you saw their shop you would understand why!

Sorry to hear about your problems.

I had almost the same issue only mine was First Gear.. My first gear was burnt up. Fortunately I have a warranty on mine and carried it to the dealer. They replaced everything in the Tranny except the TQ converter and the Valve Body. Works great now and it only cost me $100.

The reason given me was a front seal was leaking and would not hold the pressure which let first gear simply sit there and spin...
