v10 a 100,000+ mile engine

Well, life was commin along great, making 12,000 a month. Bought a new truck, as i've posted before. Well i called this ole boy a liar and a lying c*unt and he proceded to tell me how he's gonna woop my as*, 6 times, the fella bumped into me 5 mins later and a had to wrap him up. At work:(, so i just wrapped him up and drove him gently backwards 5 ft to let him know that he cant do that. So they fired me. Now i'm going back to workin out of my truck and the stealership would only give me 35,000 for a 6 day old truck. So now shes a work truck.

What kind of longevity can i expect out of my v10 viper engine. mileage is not a issue.

Man, sorry to hear about that. :( I've heard of vipers with 78,000 Miles but
nothing more. :dontknow:

How much did you pay for it? (You don't have to say)
 
The V-10s seem overbuilt and understressed- A good combination.

There are a lot of modern gas engines going 325,000+ miles these days. With
better oils and technologies, (Unlike the older cars that needed to be rebuilt at 100,000) vehicles are lasting a lot longer.

Keep the oil clean and keep up with the regular maintenance and I see no reason why they shouldn't last a long time.

Now, if you like to buzz it to 6000+ when it first started and it is low on dirty oil and -30 outside......:D
 
Dang Jay that just made my rainy day seem that much gloomier. I'm sorry to see someone provoked you enough to deal with him and lose your job. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that wishes you the best in the future. 12k a month... WHOA dude where did you work? (if you don't mind me asking)

take care of her, change the oil every 3000 with synthetic, dont go crazy with mods, and you'll be fine:D
 
I think Stinker is right. Religiously change the oil, use Mobil 1 Syn, and drive it like a normal truck and it should last longer than you will want to have it...

40,000. I'm a bad haggler, and i thought they would give me a better deal seeing that i bought a srt8 from them in 06'. I should have gone with a guy that pm'd me on lxforums.com, 2 05's a blk and red one for 37,000. I even tried to use it at my dealership but they would only come down to 40. I'm getting a new rear wheel due to a scratch, 4 new tires due to the test drives and the dry rot, and a bunch of other work done right now. chk engine light came on the 3rd day.
 
Bad Haggler? No way you were just like the rest of us and your testosterone took over and no matter what the price it was OK as long as you got the truck! We have all been there. The same will be true for every mod...cost is just not the issue with this illness...we all just pay, and love every minute of it!

I've owned my 05 QC for 1 year today with 25000 miles put on it. I bought it new from the dealer. I haggled them down to 40K. I use the truck for work also.

Sometimes getting fired is a blessing. Look at the positive side even if you don't know what it is right now. Things will work out and always follow your heart. Work harder to support your truck but keep it cause if you loose the truck you will feel even worse. When you get back on your feet then the truck will represent a winner in your eyes.

Listen, you stood your ground and didn't back down. You showed him your a man first and not just a company man. You have retained your honor and will be respected by your co workers and peers. This is nothing to be upset over. The money can always be replaced but your honor can't.

Hang in there. It will get better with your attitude:D

Just made 4,300 on a 8 day job!:) and my best freinds got me a job at 31 an hour 2 weeks on 2 weeks off on a oil rig/platform in the gulf of mexico!

I got fired for being physical, i guess. they said i pushed him, i did not, i did grab him and lift him up alittle and walked him back a couple feet. It howerver was told that i almost killed the guy, and no amount of my explaining the situation was going to make my situation any better. In the future i will take a chill pill, and let the small stuff ride.

besides i still have a truck with a VIPER ENGINE IN IT!

I am glad things are looking better for you. Just curious have have you ever worked on a rig? If not don't fall for all the jokes they play on the worms.
