I agree.. they are the best detector on the market. I have one in my Avalanche.. I have an Escort in the "10" but would gladly upgrade that one if the price is right.

:D

there is a thread on here for real nice radar mount for them thar things

No case or hidden display.

They are $399 new and $422 with shipping

it worked great but it is not legal here in VA

I have mine hard mounted to the rear view mirror so it's not easily removable. Since I live just South of the NC/VA border, I've taken mine into VA a bunch of times. Sometimes I remember to turn it off, sometimes I don't. The Valentine is suppose to be invisible to radar detector detectors. So far I've not had any problem with it in VA. I think it's a crock that VA bans the use of detectors anyhow.

That V1 saved my ass on my way to the GTG.... And it wasn't even in my truck. Where my Escort 8500 failed to sniff out a smokie on our rear, IronHead's V1 caught it. Damn nice device..

I would rather get a ticket for having a radar detector then one for speeding. Does the Valentine have VG2 protection?

Last I heard the law is you can not have it in the car at all unless you don't have the powercord with it.

Yes it does.

I went through a license check in my work truck with my Escort hanging from the windshield and plugged in. Just wasn't on. The officer checking my license never said a word about it. :dontknow: This was in Halifax Va. Depends on the officer I guess.

Several years ago when I lived up there the State Police came and talked to us at the squadron. Then the law was you could have a radar detector in the car, just no way to power it. However the Officer you get makes a difference. I get a speeding ticket but didn't have a front license plate and I had a decal on the windshield, both illegal. I got a ticket for speeding but a warning on the other 2. Since then I put the radar detector back in the truck.

I know personally in Va if they catch you with one in your commercial truck you have to either pay a $500 fine or put it under your tire and run over it:D
