I love lamp
I know this is a subject for great debate around here but, the fact is I bought it and am installing it..... so if u could please help with just that i will b glad to give my 2cents after (if anyone wants to hear it).

I have already read up on these in the search and sounds like it is straight forward install. And it is, untill i started hooking up breather hoses.

Has anyone hooked up a Volant CAI with ram-air scoop on an 06?

The directions dont match up with the diagram, and the hoses they supplied r insuficiant in length to hook up how directions or diagram (who contradict each other) suggest

I m thinking it might b diff than 04's and 05's. hence why i am askking for someone who has installed on an 06.

Any help is very appresh

i just did mine on my 06... what you having trouble with?

It's the 06 thing! You will find most things you buy do not exactly fit. I don't have a Volant, but it should go on. You may have to go down to NAPA and buy the right length of hose. Post up some pics when your done.:):)

where did u hook up ur crank case breather? What hole? did u use the 5/8X5'' supplied hose for the intake breather or the stock hose? Seems like nothing will match up.

Also which hole did u plug?

Yeah there is not alot of mods for the 10s becouse of all the little subtle changes they made....but they assured me at volant the only difference was 1 less hose and all u had to do was plug it

Diagram shows the supplied hose hooks up with the 1/2 inch hard line right by the ATC. but no hoses (either factory or supplied will reach all the way over there.

The factory hose was actually a little short for mine, but i made it work. How much too short are you??

thats all i hooked up. used factory hose that came out by throttle body into the tubing.

Way short and the bends are not right.

So u hooked up ur crank case breather all the way over by the ACT. Im just guna go get a 90 and a small length of hose and hook the crank case breather right by the box and the air intake breather right back to where it was on the old vent with the stock hose.

It should be firne cuz thye all just hook to the vent, it should not matter where.

shouldnt have to do anything custom man... check that diagram out and see if your trying to hook anything up differently.

thats the thing... the diagram and the instructions say somthin totally dif.

Instructions: #16.Attach the 5/8 x 5 breather hose to the volant duct and onto the crank case vent.

Makes sence, but nothing they supply nor have factory will work to make that connection. Also the place on the diagram that the 5/8 x 5 hose goes is where the intake vent goes???

#18: Attach the 1/2 inch straight fitting into the rubber grommet and attach factory breather hose.

Now on the back diagram it shows u putting the fitting in the hole right by the ATS, which is not only the wron breather but it is all the way on the other side of the duct AND they say to use the factory hose which is not even close to fitting

I just got an elbow and some vynal tubinng from autozone and used the 5/8 line (that i had to trim to fit) and hooked the crank case vent to the duct right out of the box and plugged the other hole. it is working and sounds good.

I am pleased with the unit other than the install, but sounds like they forgot a hose in the kit or sompethin.

Well am I missing something? Did you check out that picture I attached? I don't know what other hose you are talking about. Your factory set up only has the sensor, and the one hose... :dontknow:

Btw. I love the look of it an u can c just sitting still that it sucks air through the hood scoop when reving the engine. I am no motor head but i find it hard to believe that u would loose hp with this mod.

I did notice a slight dif in the top end of second gear and up in hp. I have nothing but my opinion to bak this up however and the temp is around 40 degrres where i live so that is helping also.

Anywho i have read so many threads here on cai (esp. volant) I would say that i am overall pleased and i think it a nice conv piese if any when u pop tyhe hood. Even if i doesnt provide any extra hp, i would still buy it again. less than $500

Actaully i have 2 tubes and the sensor. I have 1 on the crank case and 1 that hooks to the air intake right past the throttle body.

I have a 2006 rc Night Runner.

the stock had the hook ups aswell exept the crank case breather hooked to the top of the factory filter box

BTW Thank you for all ur help I really apprechiate it. I havent been on the site very long (truck is put up most of the year) but i absolutly love this forum

Hmm. I'll have to take another look at mine. I didnt have any other tubes other then the one going into by the throttle body on the stock system... anyway you could scan those instructions?? i got my system used.
