It's all good..

this was all YOUR idea :alberteinstein::hmmmm2::thefinger::D

Just need to narrow down drag vs. road...so far road course has it... for all 7 voters:banghead:

That will be $1285.00 each  :stupid:

If we can get 30 folks it should be near $330 each for Sebring...12 hr. course

I already have a verbal confirmation for one potential sponser.... but we will see who and what we got before I go any further with it.

U need to get a few more peoples , ken. I cant afford that much for a day at a track. I aint rich like u, bizatch.

Where the hell are the other guys who signed up? lets vote fellas

yo 2ndchance do me a favour .. pm all the guests on the list and ask them to vote :).... im to bussy getting ready to go :)>.. thankx

O' Sure venmous anything thing for u.

HAHA HUH, Nope!!! I can pm a few , but everyone here is an adult and i am not there mommy.

It just takes a click of the button to vote. Lets go guys, lets get this done so we can get the ball rolling and make our reservations on this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry i haven't voted till now...i haven't been on the forum too much and was undecided which track to vote for. Morosso would be cool to do both even though the road corse is crappy cause i think it'd give a better heads up racing and let a few of us open up the bottle! But after looking up sebring and checking out the layout of the track I think that will be a hole lotta fun. How fast do you think we can get going on that track down the straights??

My bro w/ the CTSV also votes for sebring. Are we thinking a one day deal now or still making a weekend out of it? I think one day will fit peoples budget better. I am down for either track either way dont' matta!

Hey Ken...if we end up at sebring...you better get a couple of new front tires before then or you'll end up off the corse some where!!! hey what happened to the big middle finger smiley I want to put in here!!??burnout:

From Donna Krammer@ Moroso

For the road course you will need -
A 3 million dollar general liability policy naming Moroso as additional insured, from a approved motorsport insurance carrier
A experienced Race Director
Corner workers, including a lead corner worker to handle pit out
A schedule that breaks down the classes & a system to identify & insure novices, intermediate, experts are not running together
Every participant, crew & family must sign a Moroso waiver of liability
If you wish to have Spectators, you must have spectator insurance included in your policy.

Sebring Response:

You would need to provide insurance. I have attached our insurance requirements. As for instructors we do not have any restrictions on those.

Insurance Requirements

Liability Coverage: $5,000,000 Combined Single Limit
$5,000,000 Participant Legal Liability

Participant Accident Coverage: $10,000 AD & D
$10,000 Blanket Medical Expense
$100 for 104 weeks Weekly Indemnity

Certificate Holder: Sebring International Raceway, Inc.; Road Atlanta, LTD.; Panoz Motorsports. LTD.; Fountainhead Development

Additional Insured: Sebring Airport Authority

We are better off renting the straight track. For the Road Course....it's not as easy as putting up the 9K, showing up, and running the track. You need certification, seat time, structured itinerary, appropriatly trained support staff and a multitude of other logististic items.
I have been in touch with SCCA, and NASA... both have suggested attending a variety of driver events to participate, volunteer, and getting an education on how to run and create an environment that's is both fun and productive for all involved.
It would not be very fun to have a chaotic, unplanned event to have to deal with for 12 hours.

Do not get me wrong, I would LOVE to run at Sebring... but for the time being I think renting the drag strip would be the most adventageous, and do-able event...due to the lesser requirements for us.

How many of the participants have the necessary seat time and instruction certification to be able to run in an event?

I am learning these processes, and would appreciate any pertinent information from those that have scheduled and performed an event like this sucessfully.

Just trying to keep everyone "grounded" until I can get the "big picture"...

For your enjoyment....Sebring....Moroso....Homestead.

I wouldnt mind doin the track for a day but i would like to make a weekend out of it especially if we are gonna drive a ways, ya know?

I can inquire within this organization again. They were not against having a few 10's at the track. 10 of them was "thrown out there"...but was for another event.

geeze that is a crazy ass insurance requirements for the road courses!!!! i am with NBT keep it simple stupid! the only experience i have is running many runs down the 1/4 mile...i have no experience road coursing it.

Just my 2cents,the Road Track does sound awesome, but I have to agree that the price is a bit steep for me !Haven't worked since March,so I guess I'll switch my vote to Moroso !!!

Dont get yoru panties in a bunch yet... we will see how diffuclt moroso is and getting there road track also... maybe we can do it ... along with the drag strip... ....

I agree on the dragstrip.Let`s coordinate it with the VTCA Winter Board of Director`s meeting.

We were going to Jax or Tampa anyway in Jan.Let`s get it together.

The problem lies within certification and insurance....any one have a license that allows them to race? Still learning if this is a requirement for track rental... but you do not get car insurance with out a drivers license....

response from Sebring:

Thank you for your time and information regarding rental. It has been asked if participants need additional insurances to qualify to run the course.
Is there a certain number of instructors per number of registrants?

Regards,

Ken Liebich

You would need to provide insurance. I have attached our insurance requirements. As for instructors we do not have any restrictions on those. Perhaps you should speak with the clubs that hold events here to see how they run things. Here are some of the clubs that run here:

Chin Motorsports
Vincent Howard - 407-323-0508

SAFE Motorsports
Phil Steinberg - 239-540-3333

NASA - Performance Drivers Club -
Steve Nix - 239-549-3876

Anna McNeil
Track Rental Coordinator
Sebring International Raceway
(863) 655-1442 Ext. 203

After speaking with two clubs listed above...their advice is to ensure everyone has a MINIMUM of a novice permit, instruction, structured itinerarywith breakdown of the classes of people racing, insurance, payments,
and a host of other requirements.

Take this information with a grain of salt...it is just information so we can make an informed decision....then plan accordingly.
It does not hurt if we all learn from this.

Sorry for the confusion... I was on the phone and the net 4 hours yesterday regarding information to get informed on this.

Here is a link to a Florida SCCA chapter....
http://www.cfrscca.org/

Waiting for more information today.

Food for thought:
