My homework assignment from Prof is to find a blown engine with a good block. I am very interested if you have one for sale. The application is for a 05QC. I'm not sure if I can use a RC block or any 04 engines.

If you are going to build a 1000 rwhp beast....the last thing you want to start off with is a damaged or repaired block....Prof has given you poor advice...sorry

What you need is a built short block from EED or Underground....that will be a strong foundation to add to....

I believe the block is different on a Quad Cab due to the extra metal needed to attached the larger tranmission (auto), at least that is what Arrow Racing told me regarding my rebuild. I was going to buy a used RC motor and they said I would have trouble attaching the automatic.

03/04 SRT's dont have the knock sensor provisions, not sure on the QC/RC difference, if any.

Brad, I have a good 454 block with oval port heads that you can build N/A to run 11's or 10's in Chevy:dontknow: :dontknow: The least expensive way to go run quick at the track.....

Why not get a damaged block?

Build your block, you know everything that has been done to it. Repair the damaged block and put it in your truck...

Why pay for two undamaged blocks...I think either would work for your built engine...but I would err on the side of putting the big hp in your current block and repairing the blown one for every day use.

Prof sir, I dont think brad is shitting money....

Sorry for the smart ass remark:D :D :D

However I am still going forward with the 1000HP monster. If I have a second block then I can do the 40K+ rebuild over a period of time while I get my spun bearing block repaired to factory specs.

i just saw you in your truck like 2 months ago and this thread is like 7 months old......you have two spare viper engines????

im confused....

please enlighten

Update...........found a good running engine and am swapping the two engines out and rebuilding my original block over time.

Sounds like a plan, and a fun project. I'm sure you'll keep us posted:D
