What car to put Viper motor in....

How 'bout a Delorean??? Gull wing doors. Already Silver. Convert it to front engine - RWD. With the Viper engine, you won't need a flux capacitor.:D

Sooooooo

Reality is that in a year or so I will be tired of the truck....

Reality is also that I will have a $50k motor and tranny in a $30k truck......

I am going to pull the drivetrain and put it into something cool....

The question is what.....???? it is a big damn motor

'70 Fury
'55ish pick up
40's Rat Rod

'cuda, coronet, roadrunner

VW BUG!!!!!

good point....:D

the guy said....stock firewall and rad. support.....

Damn man, did you think I was making that shit up??? That's the correct car for the transplant you're thinking about, IMHO. I'd go with your auto trans wiht a pistol grip shifter in the factory location...bad to the bone, that what I say. Or...you could give me your transmission and use a 6-speed...I'm liking that thought...LOL!!!

The other good thing about those cars is that there are tons of aftermarket stuff available for them should you need it. If, God forbid, you need a fender or whatever one day, it's a phone call away. They also make new technology suspension parts for them. If you go with a truly one off (IE Ramble Nash or something weird), you're more likely have to hand make every part to get it all right, then if you wreck it or whatever, you're screwed.

Food for thought.

Steve I would fully agree with you ,,,,,,,,,,well except for the fact most aftermarker body parts suck and 99% are made in China and not all there fault as specs were taken from OEM stampings or dies and some of theose were in bad shape having thousands of stamping off them so sharp lines get less sharp reval line tend to get moved or it just doesnt hit any of the bolt holes . You think SRT stuff is expensive try to find OEM fenders for a 71 Challenger . Thats why we spend the time to restore the OEM body panels ,it makes the car . Also price is not that much differant a lot of times as the repro part take so much more work to look right ,so you pay labor or pay part.
We are rodding a 59 Rolls and I thought to save the guy some money I would find some used front fenders as there is a lot of rust well when I found they are running 7k$ a set I figure if we have to remake them he is still saving .

A Rolls Royce HOT ROD??? I gotta see pics of THAT!!!

Mike,

My suggestion after reading all these submissions is this......

Find the smallest possible two seater that the V-10 will conceivably squeeze into..... Similar to the idea on the old Monster Miata...... A tiny sports car with a 5.0 Ford in it......

This one was many years ago, but I loved the idea.... In the late 60's a bud of mine up in Glendale (Jerry Macias) put a big Dodge Hemi into a custom short rail frame with the body of a fkn primo blue metal-flaked Hillman Minx sitting on it...... He was the real "Terror of Colorado Blvd"...............

It was a true monstah.....

I'd do some whacked out shit like that....

Good Luck, Mike....Whatever you decide, I'm sure it'll be awesome.

625 pounds Mike...don't know about the 6 speed.

There are so many fun possibilities......goofy ones too like a Pacer..... I did see a viper motor in a cuda on Barrett Jackson once. I believe it had graphics that said Viper Cuda on the side.

Here is a link to one. Dont think this is the same one I saw on Barrett, I believe that one was yellow.

Hmmmmmmmm less than I figured ,thats good <VBG> So 1" back and she matches a SBC . I knew there was a reason I shoulda weighed that tranny b4 we put it in the Camaro ,,,,,shit. I gotta stop thinkin it's clouding my visions  ROFLMAO
It would have been sweet in this Merc from a couple years back and he wanted more motor !
Here is the Plymouth I would like to shove one in ,ok surgically implanted and may end up with footwells like my Lotus .
