Running NOS.....On the spark plugs.

NGK TR6's gaped to .035 are what I ran on my Procharged Z06. 712rwhp with no issues.

Mine are .035

What does a narrower gap do vice a wider..?

its usually necessary to drop the gap down to .030 or .028 when boosting or nos because the wider gap makes it harder it ignite the high pressure mixture. I'm not sure what the stock gap is on out trucks, so I'm speaking purely from experience with my cars. .040 is stock for my other cars.

ok...just took the spark plugs out of my truck...After 4000 miles they look like they have been there for for 20000. the tip look's pretty burnt and worn. also boomer told me that the gap he set is 35 but all the plugs came out to at 40. I heard of pistons or compression closing gaps. never of anything that opens the gap...

The only thing that closes gaps is contact between the piston and the plug, not compression. They tend to open because they burn away. The edges are usually rounded when this happens.
Are there any small black specks on the porcelains of the plugs?

:dito: Most GM vehicles are at .060 stock.

Actually I take that back. A couple did have black specks on the porcelain...Number 1, 5 and 8 did...

you might be running too agressive of a tune (timing), I would data log it and see if your picking up knock; hard to tell though.

When reading plugs, they need to be read RIGHT AWAY after a run, drag, etc...not after a while; they tend to wash the reading when driving...
