I've been driving my QC around most of the winter, except when it gets into the -15 Celcius or lower. We've had a good amount of snow since November and got dumped on over the last two days,,, i've yet to have a problem with the snow in this truck and frankly i'm not driving cautiously. The only real problem was after i backed out of the shop and let the truck sit for a couple minutes the tires melted the ice enough that it got stuck, but it was easy enough to push by myself.
As for stopping that seems to be the only time i have traction! Coming around a corner if you want you can pull a full 360
just by tapping the throttle. I'm just having a hard time seeing the need for chains, the negatives just outweight the positives that they supply.
If you still want a better option, buy a set of Hemi 20 inch rims/tires and get them "studded" a much better option and it only costs $40 a tire (here in Canada). The tires wont be of any use in summer, but this way you'll have a set for winter and you can spare the Pirelli's!!!!!!!!!!
Hope this helps,
Shane
