If your referring to the the Texas mile, then I don't think its the top speed which is going to be limiting you, I think its the distance you have to get up to speed....Once you hit 160+ its going to take a lot of pavement to climb every 1-2mph...In 1 mile from start to finish you going to need to put the pedal down and get that mph quick!! Gearing is going to help your top end, but with the small distance you have, its going to make it worse off the line. Now if he had an unlimited runway, then thats another story
