Thought I might make at least an attempt to let everyone know that it is I, Hell Boy, who is selling my STS kit on F-Bay.
Equally important is that I come clean about how my engine was damaged (it was a broken ring land on #3, not a hole in the block, as dramatized by others).
Before I do, let me tell you that I sold five other kits to fellow forum members, and not one person has reported any engine problems. That includes smoke (Flyinglow), who, I won't deny, had issues with boost control, but has not suffered any damage to his engine. Besides myself and Phil (Big Asp, whose first engine failed during the R&D process, and the second when the boost was cranked up), who else can you name that had an engine failure following an STS install?
My engine was damaged because of mistakes that I made. Not because of design flaws in the STS system. Out of sheer stupidity, I drove the truck before I installed my gauges. If I had taken the time to install them, I would have immediately seen that there was no fuel enrichment under boost. As it turns out the tuning kits left Roe Racing without a program loaded into them. That, of course, is fixed by a two second card read into the controller.
It does not matter what power adder I put on, if I was dumb enough to drive it without knowing what was happening, and there was any kind of problem with the system or the installation, the outcome would have been the same. Be it enough said that I have learned my lesson, and will have full instrumentation before the new engine turns over for the first time. As you can see from my sig line, I'm also going to the Paxton for my new build. Primarily because of the simplicity of the tuning, and experience that they have with the Viper engine.
So please. If you really must poke fun at me, do so because I acted in haste. Not because I'm selling the kit.
