Well, if Scott has that piece.... His is a "early" 05 QC..... The only thing I can think of is they may have used a few "04" Blocks in some of the 05 QC's early in production. This would mean (from what I hear) they would need some sort of spacer (like the one pictured) to line up the mounts..... :dontknow:


......... Damn-it..... Now I'm going to get curious and have to drive all the way out to where my old truck is (on a dealer lot) to see if it has the same thing. Mine was a LATE YEAR 05 Quad Cab.... If it DOES NOT have the same spacer piece thingy.... it would prove my hypothesis. :dontknow:

Greg, I done fried my trans and it's gotta come out. How long would you need the piece for? I think I'm gonna get a Stinker trans.

Mine has it also-----could it be a heat insulator to help dissipate engine heat away from the auto trans ...

Bingo Jakers, being ya have to remove material from an auto block to use a stick shift it would seem more than resonable that it may be a reverse and someone made a spacer for a stick shift block to fit an auto trans. Should we bet more cigars:dontknow:

It has been confirmed that it's a adapter for the auto trans. All QC have them most just didnt see it cause they dont need to be removed unless total engine rebuild! Thanks to Patricks guys for checking with Dodge.

Started slipping on the way home from Macon. 2-3 band, clutches and torque coverter DOA. At least I got home GTG's are bad for my truck's health.

If they used the spacer on ALL the QC's to fit the auto trans..... then why are the actual BLOCKS different in the RC and QC? :dontknow:

Maybe it could be because they used the 2500 chassis for the QC and the 1500 chassis for the RC? :dontknow:

all I can tell you is the QC blocks and the RC blocks are different, the dowl pin locations are in different locations, even the 04 blocks are different from the 05-06 due to the knock sensor.
