it sounds cool,i love the classic tuning way.

but how much $ i have to spend for my transmission(QC) that i have no trouble with my daily driver ?

you don't have to do anything with the tranny unless you just want to upgrade it

I wonder how much of the 10K is tied up in this manifold conversion? Maybe worth while looking at a Hogan intake?

had the same thought:rock:

or even a Hogan's for a ported stock/Stryker set up:burnout::rock::burnout:

I asked about the hogan intake as well, apparently he does not like them as they are sheet metal and allow to much heat to get into the intake air charge, which on a viper engine causes power loss, and i think the conversion on the intake would only be half the price of a hogan..

never heard of a hogan intake...... must be either extremely pricey or not worth the gains since no one is running them....

Hogan's Racing Manifolds.com is their site.

pricey, could be. beautiful/awesome workmanship for sure:rock::rock:

there is a hand full of guys that has them here:burnout::burnout:

a "stock" style intake for the truck runs bout $3600. half down to get in line & get the work started

Ahh ok well ill have to do a search and see what I come up with!

Ram from Hell, FSTJACK and the truck that was built by AFI all have Hogans intakes. Thats all I can think of, is there any others?

yes i was speaking to him today , and he was going over tons of shit, so i told him to just email me the info and pics so i can post it with out screwing up what he was telling me.. if i dont see it tomorrow ill call him monday and get it resent.. but some crazzy shit is going down on this build... i cant wait..

he was rattling off the flow numbers etc.. im gonna guess here but dont quoate me..
stock gen 4 valves in the head, and i think he said were flowign 350cfm intake and hes trying to get 365cfm.. and exhaust is 265cfm i think..

we also decided to go with a high compresion piston to replace the stocker and this beast is gonna roll some insane numbers... but as soon as i get the actual data from him i will post up...

wow. cant wait to see the dynos for this setup

I'd def be interested in having a gen4 in my truck with or w/o added n/a HP, but don't see it being feasible or the $'s being available. atleast as long as stock motor is still good. Sure Would have been great if that motor came out a few years earlier!

UPDATES FROM BUILDER

This is the Viper engine program that we are developing where we install the Generation 4 (2010 Viper heads) on a Generation 3 model (2003 - 2006) Viper engine. The new Generation 4 Viper cylinder heads are the best Viper heads with highest technology design features that include placement of the fuel injector in the head for much better fuel flow into the engine.

The new Generation 4 Viper heads also have a smaller 72 cc combustion chamber which is 6 cc's less than the 78 cc chamber in the 2003-2006 Generation 3 heads. The smaller chamber in the new Viper head will increase compression in a Gen 3 engine from 9.6:1 to over 10.2:1 compression.

So the new Viper heads have smaller combustion chambers that raise compression to over 10:1 and they flow more air and have much better fuel flow since the fuel injector is actually located in the cylinder head. See the pictures with the hole on top of the intake port, which is the location for the fuel injector.

Gen 4 Heads
The modified generation 4 cylinder heads flow over 349 cfm through the intake port and over 260 cfm on the exhaust port.

Gen 4 Lower Intake + Gen 3 Top Lid
The intake manifold is a two piece manifold which allows the use of the lower manifold that fits the Generation 4 heads with a special lid that is the top half of the 2003-2006 Viper intake manifold. So by having the Gen 3 (2003-2006) intake lid you can use the gen 3 throttle body and the stock air intake system bolts directly in place. This intake manifold makes a big difference in power and since it works with the Gen 4 heads, this cylinder head and intake manifold is the best engine system available for the Viper engine for making power. Our porting modifications to the intake manifold pick up 30 cfm of airflow which makes big power, at least 20 rwhp.

Exhaust System
Special Headers are required to work with the Gen 4 heads in the Gen 3 vehicle and these items will be available to us.

Power & Performance:
The 2008-2010 Vipers make 600 hp. So by using the heads and lower intake from this 600 hp Viper engine and upgrading it with our custom porting modifications to the heads and intake manifold along with our custom designed camshaft this engine will be able to make over 700 horsepower naturally aspirated and over 600 rear wheel horsepower. Developing 800 horsepower at the engine is also possible with high tech camshaft profiles, better forged pistons and great tuning. This new Viper engine system will be able to make between 700 hp to 800+ hp naturally aspirated when fully developed.
