Geodrillers HP problems

oldcolt, our trucks were also 3 months roughly apart, was Steves before yours or after. if it was before it could poss be in late 05, and by theory have different specs to meet, and is his truck faster or more powerfull than most 06's???

Is your truck dyno tuned or have a box tune from Torrie? I didn't notice an expected noticeable difference when i did my catless mids, headers, bbk throttle body, and u/d pulley all at once until i put on Torries box tune. When i installed his tune i was still dissappointed, then i drove down to get him to tune it on the dyno.....WOW! Huge difference.... But i say you need to take it to the track...have you actually been in another RC 10 to makethe assumption that yours is lacking on power or are you jsut saying that because of your #'s?

he just sent me a tune via email. he looked at my dyno pulls and said his tune did what is supposed to. he said that was the best he could do with what we have to work with, maybe he could get more out of it if i went to him. but he is usually pretty close to on the button tuning these things blind, or so some individuals say. and his tune did nothing for hp, but it did give me close to 30 extra foot lbs of tq. and the gragh was much smoother on the dyno pulls with his tune than it was withgout his tune. he said "your truck has internal problems that no amount of tuning could fix" that i need to get to the root of the problem.

i want to hit the track and will most deff do so 1st chance i get. and i have not rode in another RC, only other 10 i have ever rode in is my old 05 QC. it had CAI, Maggie catback with 2 back cats deleted, and a flashed PCM from DC tuning. and the new 06 RC was bone ass stock and felt much faster.

but u are right, i am only making these assumptions on what others say about there RC's ;like tire spin and so forth, and also how my truck is MUCH lower on the HP than what it should be for the mods. Any properly running RC should be closer to 450+ hp and close to 500TQ with the mods i have. and most guys say they can spin the tires all the way through 2nd. i live in central IL where we are not at high elevations, and even when i drive my truck at 40 degrees out it will only chirp hittin second at a power shift with WOT. hell, just watch Ralphies 1/4 vid, he was chirpin 3rd at the sticky track and he had DR on. I just dont get it:shot:

yea man your going to drive yourself mad listening to people's #'s....take it to the track and see what she runs.....that will let you know right away if your ride is actually running weak or not!

i know dyno numbers dont mean jack, that track times tell the true story.

but is it possible for two identicle trucks, with the same mods, and one dynos 450/500, and the other dynos 415/460, and the lower hp one win on the quarter??? i know the difference in internals and all that stuff, but if they were built the same, just 2 different trucks, is that possible for the less powerful one to be quicker????

i mean i have read alot of posts here about how dyno numbers can be high and the vehicle still be quick, like the forged internal conversations and that spazie/stewart 302 thing. but these are not 2 different makes or models. these are 2 06 trucks with the same mods.

Steve is not a member on the forums (I think). His truck had 389HP, 2 more than mine before it got fixed.

Torrie also said there was no tune that could fix my truck......he was right!:)

regarding the emissions, if i'm not mistaken 06 1/2 trucks started all that diesel emissions crap, as well... so anything under mid 06 was probably not affected IF that's the culprit...

hmmmm. u may be onto something, maybe some other proven 06's can post their build dates and specs.............Anyone????????????

so, how do u think ur truck is runnin. is it about the same as mine or are you waitin for the full break in, have you gone wot yet???

Did a couple wot short pulls.. couple in first gear at higher rmp. She still hooks up pretty good when warm. When it's not completely warmed up she moves though. Buy after a couple hours driving it gets a little tired. I have exhaust coming this week... And I will be stripping the back cats. I will see if that makes a difference.

Will there be a big difference with just exhaust and taking cats out on a properly running 10??

My build date is June/21/1200pm
2006 Nightrunner #167 QuadCab
I have a Borla exhaust and K&N CAI. Performance wise i cannot compare it to anyone else cause this is the 1st SRT-10 i have ever been in. But i think now before i add headers or any tuning i'm going to do pre Dyno run to see how the truck is running pre and post tuning.
Good luck Geodriller in your quest for more power i am sure there are more then a few '06 owners rooting for you. I'm hoping to get to Dyno before the end of summer.

i know i felt a difference when i put on my exhaust. the truck was bone stock, not even a K&N air filter... i put on a magnaflo catback on and dleted 2 back cats and resignators,, i most deffinatly felt a seat of the pants defference.

that is awsome. ur truck was literaly the truck after oldcolts on the assembly line. thats asuming it takes an hour a truck. his is 6-21 at 1:00

that is awsome

oh wait, canviper, thats my truck. holy shit my night runner was built the same day...06-21-2006 at 11:00 am, was urs 12:00 am or pm???? mine is a RC. how cool

My truck was an early 06 build.

and those mods were all there when u made those numbers??

really the only difference is my headers and ur TB. should almost be a wash, maybe my headers would give u a little more power, but only a couple

other than that we have the same mods, but ur higher on hp and tq.

have you ever went down a track?

Those mods were on it the day of the tune. Don't remember if the CAI was, but no gain really with one.
My truck has been down the track with the tune, but don't remember times. I would have to find the slips.

My truck was 12 noon so that would be 12pm right? So that is pretty wild!! Can't wait to dyno and compare the results. From mine to yours and the rest of the 06's. God i hope i am in the HP ballpark with the rest of the trucks not ready to throw in big money yet. But so far i love this truck and can't imagine what more HP would be like but scare the shit out of the wife some more LOL.
