So I installed Torrie's 91 Performace tune for my truck last night....seems like a great tune so far! Already noticed a little better throttle response directly off the line. Have a couple questions though: About how long does it take for the ECU to completely except/learn the SCT tune? When I had the Hemi, it took a couple weeks for it to completely except the DSP tune. Also, what should I expect for performance gains? Not looking for numbers, already have seen those, just looking for what you guys have noticed from the good ol butt dyno? What did you see as the most significant gain after installing the tune? Throttle response, shift points, power? Also, this is for a QC, so I have read that more improvement is felt due to the sluggish auto trans. Thanks!

The ECU will make some adjustments over time based on your driving habits but you will notice little difference.....The Hemi seems to make more drastic adjustments based on my experience...I would unhook my battery cables about every 2 weeks to reset it on the 06 SRT I owned.....I never noticed any difference in the 06 SRT10 I owned..

IMO the whole 9 yards. I had a 93 tune and man felt like i was driving a completly different Supped up truck. Make a hell of a difference I am talking day and night difference. I ran the 10 on stock tune and then on the 93 and i was like man i didnt know it would make that much of a difference. I felt the HP and Tq gain for sure.

From what I see on this site, the QC's seem to benefit more from the "Plug In" tune. On my RC, the "Low Octane" tune was on the rich side. Under 12:1 till 4,000 rpm, then runs around 12.2-12.5 through 5,000. Definitely a safe rich up top 11.3:1 at 5,500.

I can see anyone benefiting from a wideband O2 to dial in the tune w/ Torrie.

I will probably be taking her to Goodspeed soon for a dyno session. Just waiting until I get my cats deleted.

What did you think about the 93 tune bud?

Well, mine was the 91 Aggressive tune....Arizona sucks in the fact that we don't have 93. The tune woke her up pretty good. Still think there is a little left in her but it is pretty damn good for a tune without a dyno.

Shawn... Goodspeed is in Scottsdale. Not sure if they have tuned any vipers but they do tune a lot of high end cars. Been there a couple times and have seen some really nice cars. I know they have done Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, all sorts of cars that I can't afford...haha. I know several really good tuners in the area, but Goodspeed just so happens to be able to tune with SCT. Check out their website: GoodSpeed Performance Lab On Monday I am going to call up Tony at UMS Tuning to see if he can tune using SCT. He is the one that tuned my neon SRT to 420whp. Goodspeed is a great shop and they know what they are doing but they are kind of pricey since they do mostly high end cars. Tony and Jeremy at UMS are very knowledgeable tuners and their prices are pretty good. Just don't remember if they do SCT or not.

Oh....and I just got off the phone with UMS...they do tune our trucks with SCT. Little better pricing too. I have always been a believer in you get what you pay for but I know from experience that Tony and Jeremy at UMS are good tuners/builders. The Goodspeed guys are great too, just don't have any personal experience with them.

We had a guy here, before Torrie, supposed to be a great tuner. Well probably about 20 of us bought SCT's from him on a great group deal. He apparently put in way too much timing and about 3 of the guys lost there engines to predetonation. I went straight to a dyno and found that I lost 30 HP with his tune over stock. Then thankfully Stinker hooked up with Torrie and now all is well.

getting rid of the cats is the biggest bang for the buck ! then with the tune it really opens them up!!! get the cats gone and you will wake the beast within!!!:burnout::burnout::burnout::rock::rock::rock:
