JTS venom hood

Tony rocks, give him a chance to fix it bro. I didn't have any problems with my venom hood I got from Tony. I bet what everyone else is saying is true that he didn't inspect the hood himself but, trusted the molder to be honest.

When I recieved my Venom hood it didn't have any scratches on it whatsoever. All hoods still need sanding and prep work but my buddy who painted it said it was in great shape. Prep work and full paint job only took a week and I had the CE stripe painted and the venom symbol painted underneath.

So u go straight to the forums before even trying to get resolution with tony on the matter. Nice...

Why don't you eat a rod pal.

serious I didn't ask for your advice did I ????????????? No i didn't

I didn't jump on the forum and bash on him, I put what I felt was proper on a thread.

Whats tony really going to do ???????????? Please someone tell me sence you select few wanna try and turn this into a bash on me. so quick to give your 2 cent which I care less about to be honest.

whats he going to do, give me my money back ? come to maryland and fix it.

It's july and I placed the order in Feb. it took 4 months to ship ??? really. do the math it's called bull****. I was lied to many times along with my bodyshop on the shipping, then it was a mold issue, and shipping again & again & again.

I'm glad for the few who had perfect hoods. trust me, but it seems like I was not the only one with flaws all over the hood, wish people would of said this awhile back. I would of never bought it.

But I'll call tony to make the over sensitive people happy on here, Ok guys :)

I was not sitting here smashing tony into the ground, or cussing up a storm. or even cussing him out.

As I said in a few posts back. It is what it is, the bodyman will take care of someone else's job and make sure the hood look's good.

I agree. I have bought many parts from him.

I just wish he would of seen the hood before shipping.

Really get ur panties out of a bunch little ram rod:elefant:, I simply asked a question.
I wasn't giving advice??????????

Actually. Not sure when, but there was a change in builders. I think you may have ordered in the middle of that time frame. He switched from a maker in TN to one locally. I have one hood from each one. The common denominator here is that everybody who picked up the hood, had less problems.

Anyways sorry your hood arrived in such bad shape, I do plan on ordering one later in the year myself. Hopefully your body guy can get you squared away with out to much hassle.

As odd as it sounds I'm with RAMDUDE on this one. It always sucks to be that one. The one that got the item not in the best condition. Then you're faced with the obvious issues. Cost to ship it back, the realization that when you get it back, it still may not be what your expecting. And still in an odd twist, I agree with RAMDUDE, that he just explained what he got, no tossing people under the bus, no outrageous insults, just told his side and what his personal experience was.

I consider Tony a friend and I know just how aggravating these hoods have been over the years. Personally, faced with the same situation as RAMDUDE, I probably would have done the same thing, probably the same way, really, what are the options......

I know I would have been mad...

The discussion is a good one, lets keep it a discussion

Thanks

I'm sorry for the aggravation that you have had to endure through this process my friend. I hope better things come your way in the future. :)

Business 101, though, there needs to be some kind of QA/QC on products you sell. I too, have ordered from Tony before and have had no issues, but me personally, on a product that costs so much, I'd be wanting some sort of way of inspecting them before they ship. Clearly Tony doesn't make these hoods, he's essentially the storefront, but as such, he's going to receive the blame when they don't arrive to the customer in good repair.

No doubt ther, I had 23 employees and 50+ contracted employees. It was hard to watch everything all the time

That's why I love being in the Army, chain of command to oversee things from the lowest levels to the highest.

I remember those days.....

I also remember the Officers taking credit for the success's of the Enlisted and they screwing the NCO's for things they (Officers) screwed up

lol well I was enlisted for 6 years before becoming an officer, so hopefully I won't forget my roots!

At least you understood. It was not a slam fest on tony by any means.

It's just kinda upsetting to wait so long for something that looks so good on other peoples trucks. only for it to arrive and being told flaw after flaw. and seeing things that is under par.

I agree again, tony did not build this i understand that. but I can'tblame anyone else. I am not asking for any of my money back, or going to give tony a cussing out. things happen and what can you really do.

I was on the fence with the venom hood or the VIS carbon fibre hood.

nothing personal against anyone, . just was a little let down, but It will get shaped up & look good.

I still like tony, I know he didn't make the hood, but all I will ask of him is to maybe have a better way to inspect hoods for future people.

My hood from Tony came with a chip in the corner but it was obvious that it was a shipping issue as the corner of the box was smashed in. I opted to accept it as it was and fix it myself. The hood was very high quality and required very little body work. The only issue that I have ever had with it is the gap between the side of the hood and the fender. Very minimal in my opinion. If the hood had come to me with a large scratch or other defect that I felt was not acceptable I would not have accepted delivery on it. It gets returned to the sender and I call Tony and tell him about the situation.
