2014 Ford Lightning

Actually looked at mating one up to my truck several years ago.

Not if they are saying mid 6's for the tremor

I missed the mid 6s line. The second link has an estimated 7.9 from Ford. Either way, once the tuners get ahold of it, it'll turn into a pretty quick ride. I'm not a huge fan of the styling, the Boss 302 smere on the side doesn't work so well on the F-150 and it's needs to get a bit lower.

I've seen some posts from Torrie on FB with the work he has done with the current EcoBoost F-150, it's pretty impressive for a V6.

What's the Ford P/U that is out that is suppose to have 444 HP & how does it compare to this Tremor? Does anyone know why they haven't made a SRT8 Ram? They have the SRT in everything else, it seems the RAM would be a no brainer and fill an empty space in our truck line.

Face it guys, smaller & smaller engines are the future. I don't see a V8 made for cars or trucks by 2020. I hope I am wrong, but with # they are getting on these smaller motors, hard to justify tooling for a V8 when they can build different versions of powerful V6s. Don't want to see it, but, think that is coming, JMO...

Same thing happened in the 80's 4 bangers and turbo 4bangers. The V8s won't die, but they will struggle for air for several years. there are only so many fast n furious fans on the planet.

No doubt that Justin and Scott are killin it with their trucks. Jerry is too. But you would be hard presses to find even 10 trucks here that have cut a 1.5x or 1.6x.
I agree with your entire post. However lets look at it another way. The 10's are capable, it's just owners that dont push them that far. They rather be in car shows, have dyno sheets are/or just content with just cruising around town. Either or all of those are fine.

Very true but when you have something as unique as a viper powered truck and lose to a much more technologically advanced truck as a twin turbo v-6 that's 8yrs newer and TUNED not stock. Its really a mute point. Stock and pound for pound the 10's are still the fastest american production truck out there! Aftermarket and stock are other worlds and comparing apples to oranges. I look forward to seeing one at the track!

And when one gets beat, im sure the owners will tell themselves that to keep the tears from flowing.:dontknow:

Besides, stock is seldom kept that way. And as proven by the dear gen 2 lightning, if you start with a forced induction platform, it takes very little time and money to make them much faster as their N/A counter parts.

Point well made.
