Can anyone tell me where I can find a radiator for my srt10 and does any trans cooler tubes or fins run through radiator..I don't believe they do but I was told different.the reason I'm asking is I have put 5 transmissions in my truck since April and they all have burned up within days due to heat issues...we just built a level 5 tranny for it and it lasted 5 days..we flushed out lines and trans cooler but still burn up...Any help would be a true blessing

Hate to say it but sounds like the builder may not exactly know what he's doing? 5 Trans?? Same builder each time? If you're flushing cooler and using a new torque converter each time then no reason an outside component is killing tranny. Sounds like internal failures.

He's covered the cost of a manual swap 3 times over now I bet if he has went through that many trannys.

Three different guys building them in three different states, all very good and well known ...The last one is a guy I grew up with tranny hub and shaft ate up and fluid is burnt...we r rebuilding her again now any help would be great or if any one cares to talk to him...it was run ing great pulling really hard and shifting hard then it started dragging out shifts as it did in all that I've had built...

I don't want a manual tranny I like the 48re and the first I had built last 70,000 mi...I'm asking for any help not someone telling me how much money I've lost I'm well aware of the amount of money I have lost

Just asking for any help I can get here guys,I really love my truck and she putting down about 680 to the ground she's a beast just can't figure this out..

No harm meant venomousninghtrunner168, we just buss each other balls and joke around. The pro's with the auto's will assist you as best as they can. You still need to provide more info on your truck, you mention you pushing 680hp which is alot for the auto, even with stock hp levels those trannys were known to melt.

At 17K miles had mine modified. Bat TQ and went thru 3 builds till I got Century in Richmond TX. Mike rebuilt it at 47,000 and I now have 96,000. Haven't even adjusted bands. Runs perfectly. Something is really wrong with your rebuild. Tail in where the overdrive is located may not have been reworked. :dontknow:

I would replace the transmission cooler instead of flushing it. I'd replace the cooler lines if there was a catastrophic failure. Skyy's cooler he is offering was removed for a 6 speed swap not because of a failure.

Sorry to hear about your struggles. It's understandable that you are upset. I'll contact a member here that I think may be able to offer you some helpful feedback.

So were torque converts changed each time? Electronic solenoids? Where are you located? Mods?

Did you put a converter with a billet anti-balloon plate in ? The stock one on a stock engine is barely adequate. And since you're modded up and you're cooking it, might want to start there.

Sounds like a restriction somewhere in the cooler or lines. Any idea what the pressure was when your builder did the reverse flush?

$100 says whomever is building did not replace the convertor ior flush the system on the initial rebuild , most of the time we find that the cause for so many rebuilds,

you need to start from the top, don't get frustrated, replace the cooler, the convertor, do a basic rebuild and you should be good, maybe find another builder;)

From the Service Manual...

There is a drainback valve located in the transmission cooler outlet (pressure) line.

The valve prevents fluid from draining from the converter into the cooler and lines when the vehicle is shut down for lengthy periods. Production valves have a hose nipple at one end, while the opposite end is threaded for a flare fitting. All valves have an arrow (or similar mark) to indicate direction of flow through the valve. END

Make sure this isn't in backwards and/or is working properly.
