air bag recall

I'm waiting for spring to, well, spring. They didn't have parts available the times I checked last year. I checked a month ago and they have parts available locally now.
 
my notice says drivers only. i thought someone said they messed up the passenger side of the dash doing the passenger side
 
Got my recall letter yesterday for the drivers side. Talked to my dealership today and they are holding the part for me and said bring my truck in when I can.
 
I have the recall notice as well. Gonna contact them in the next month or so. I have a customer with a 2007 Ram that also got the recall and he claims they broke some sort of mount in the process and now his horn is no longer functional. He also said the dealership claims that it was already broken (the mounting bracket) and not covered in the recall and are gonna charge him something like $400.00. :(

Typical stealership pricing, 10 dollar bracket charges 115 for it... 2 hours labor sits on their ass for an hour and half.
 
Update! After telling the dealership that he thought he shouldn't have to pay, they didn't charge him. Story had a good ending after all.
 
The part that gets damaged is the horn pad, the contacts for the horn are intended to tear in case of air bag deployment. Sometimes they get torn on removal of the airbag cover. We have done hundreds and only experienced this with 2 or 3 trucks.
 
Welcome back to civilization :rofl: there are literally 10's of millions of vehicles being recalled for faulty airbags. Google 'takata airbag'
 
My local dealer...Flagstaff. We spend most our time up here in the high country, though, usually I leave my truck in phx during winter. I still use Avondale dodge as I like Patrick (SRT and hellcat owner) and crew over there. A bit of a drive...

Avondale I think is now Larry Miller Dodge.
 
They may not have changed it.
Dealership said they did P41 ign
switch recall on my buddys jeep
and changed nothing.
 
You should have yours done by now mine was done last year. However, the dealer broke my horn cover which they gladly replaced. This is for the Driver side airbag not passenger.
 
Your local dodge dealer should handle that for you most likely you will need to set up an appointment.
