Hey Kiwi SRT10, have you checked your IAT sensor reading after doing this? I just installed a Volant. They are about $350 now. My truck came with the JMB intake and was worried about the IAT because it was hitting 150 in traffic and its 35F here! I tried moving the IAT sensor to the air filter, which helped the IAT go way closer to ambient while moving.
When I installed the Volant, I put the IAT back in the usual place. Its much better now but my IAT wont go below 80F and start climbing as soon as I stop. It slows down around 108F. Im going to move the IAT away from the radiator and see what happens. Im thinking about blocking the front facing air box window because it probably sucks up heat from the radiator. It doesnt seem like much hot air escapes through the hood scoop. I might do hoods vents for that...cheers!
