First time at the track 13.1sec 1/4

A 13.1 in bad air (foggy and 70^) on a 5200 rpm shift tune ain't bad. I suggest trying the changes I recommeded earlier in this thread before you consider tune and/or gears. I recommend against the 4.10. Stay with the 4.56 it has. As for the tune, I'd suggest against anyone other than Sean...

First time at the track 13.1sec 1/4

The converter is a billet 3 disc but stall rpm is the same as stock. The guy that did the work said that with the s/c I'd get blowthrough (whatever that is) if I bumped the stall much. I got low 1.90s 60' times prior to the supercharger. No doubt you'll get better than that soon considering...

First time at the track 13.1sec 1/4

I don't have any experience with Caltracs to have an opinion. I do know that with some minor changes you'll be into the 12s consistently. The last 20 or so runs I had on it, all were from the mid-12.8s to just over 13 but nothing bumping 13.1 (and on street tires.......I actually slowed down...

First time at the track 13.1sec 1/4

Just watched the video. Load the other tune for the track. That's definitely the low shift tune. I don't recall if I had it set for 5200 or 5500. Now that I think about it more, I thik it's 5200. Also, I had the low rpm shift put on the SCT as a replacement for the 98 octane/methanol tune...

First time at the track 13.1sec 1/4

PhatPharmacist, I ran a 12.82 at Ben Bruce Memorial Raceway Park in Evadale, Tx. and a 12.83 at Houston Raceway Park. On both runs I removed the tailgate, spair tire, back seats, jack, and glove box/center console content. Runs were made with less than 1/8 tank of gas. Mirrors were folded...

    Farewell

From my perspective, having sold my truck 05/15 negates any right I'd have to post an opinion or perspective on the forum, so this is my last. Owning the truck was fun. The experience was another good one on a long list of good ones. I wish PhatPharmacist the best as new owner. I wish...

    New Fuel Standards

The government is working to some degree with DuPont on fuel cells. Attached is a link to an article about DuPont fuel cells. When I get to work tomorrow I'll see if I can resurrect the article on U.S. Government involvement. I'd like to see U.S. companies in the mix on the technology...

Silver 2005 QC -- Black Interior

Just got in my latest loan statement. New price is $26,850. The truck is in great shape inside and out with no leakes and no oil use at all between changes. Hopefully someone will get a great truck. The little black specs on my truck in the pictures were "love bugs" (little black bugs that...

Silver 2005 QC -- Black Interior

Would someone please give me directions on how to post pictures? I just washed my truck, took a few, and would like to post them. I've done it once before and remember the first yime I tried they were too large, someone sent me directions resulted in the file being smaller, then posting worked...

Silver 2005 QC -- Black Interior

The price on my truck is payoff. As long as I have it I'll reduce the price each month to whatever the payoff drops to and post the new price. Side note......I forgot to list in the initial note that it also has the Roe TB. Best to all, oldguy

    Mileage at failure of 48RE

I was wrong on the mileage I listed for the failure. It came at 49,505. The Roe has been on it for 18,322 miles. No doubt some folks may disagree but I don't think the Roe was a contributor to the failure. I got my truck back yesterday. The rebuild was $1950. It runs and shifts fantastic...

    48re solenoid upgrade update

No disrespect intended but I'll favor the guy I've worked with locally for 25 years who has an excellent reputation versus taking internet advice. You may very well have the solution, and for those that opt to follow your advice I hope it works very well. oldguy

    48re solenoid upgrade update

Not really pertinent to this thread but with my transmission apart the tech. checked the lever in mine. For what it's worth it has the 5.0. Had it not his intent was to switch to the 5.0 as an upgrade. oldguy
