an extra turbo is one more thing to worry about breakin, extra wastegate...unless you are runnin a common one,porbally an extra blow off and all kinds of other extra things that iam missin:dontknow:

You better put that thing on the track 10 or 15 times before you go putting your pink slip on the line against a guy that has been racing about as long as you have been ejaculating.

According to who? A single 91mm would take less time than twin 88's. Why did the twin 67 viper take 8 seconds to make the same pull this truck did in 4? Why is his power curve 800+ RPM behind mine when starting from the same RPM on the same dyno? This is a small turbo guys, a 88MM T6 is not big for a 505ci. motor, small cube small block fords are spooling 2 of these exact turbos in 2500# cars (yes they are race cars but are 150+ ci behind with less load and 2-3 times the boost). A single 76 T4 would NEVER make anywhere near the power this would and would just be a restriction.

I just read a thread on Viperalley from which Underground Racing has solved the case of the heads lifting. Of course they're not going to disclose their secret but thought I'd throw it out there that this problem seems to have an answer. Maybe one of our UGR guys (walt, stink) can get some inside secret info. Heck, I bet Walts got it on his TT Viper setup :)

Think about it 250 ci per turbo or 500ci per turbo, half the cubes spinning smaller turbos vs. all the motor feeding one big turbo. Like I posted earlier, a twin 67 viper on the same dyno took 800 RPM longer to spool, and on the street it would be even worse since its lighter than the truck (less load). The viper took 8 seconds from 1800RPM to 6000RPM to make the dyno pull and the truck never took longer than 5 seconds even on the lowest boost settings to make the same pull (only 3.5 seconds on the race gas pulls).

Water injection is not needed on race gas boost settings, only on pump gas settings, and the C02 sprayer was never turned on, the IAT's were in the 60's-70's without it.

Justin - what about the Viper having longer gears...I would like to see a pull starting at the same RPM. I understand where you are coming from, it should take twin 67's longer to spool than one 88mm turbo. Paolo also sells a single turbo kit that puts out more power than his DIY twin kit. Truck wise you have the room for a large turbo, it is more difficult for a Viper or Vette to get that thing unde rthe hood.

If he is having problems breaking loose in 4th, it will take him some time to master 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I still can't get a 1.8 60 with my 5.6 lbs of boost...and I have had it over a year.

Traction will be an issue of major proportions.

Nobody wants my pink slip...old technology, just sitting around gathering dust in the shadow of all these new big iron beasts.

The longer gears give it more time to load and spool, the vipers pull was made at 1800 and the trucks were all about 2000. The viper consistently made power 800+ RPMs later than the truck. The truck made peak HP and TQ around 4700 on race gas and makes over 1000WHP from 4500 on (on the dyno, move that curve down about 800 RPM for the street where it's a much bigger load and quicker spool).

Yes a T6 turbo is definitely going to be a tight squeeze in a viper, the SRT coupe coming in will be turbo'd but until we see what fits/doesnt and what has the most advantages, Im not sure if it will be single or twin. I have nothing against twins at all, most of the time they package themselves very well on any V style engine, I just saw more advantages on a big power pump gas setup with the single in this truck application.

Thank you, I love this forum. Not only do we find great guys, but we known we can trust them with our rides. We know they have a ton of knowledge and are willing to help out. It is great knowing you guys and can't wait to meet all of you.
Justin - we will talk more when you come down here in january. I like the idea of torque on demand with the ROE but the variable boost with a turbo is also appealing. Either way I will probably wreck my car so...it's time to :toilet: or get off the pot:D
