1st SOUTHEAST NATIONAL GTG SERIES

talked with tony this morning. if emt will find out how much the track rental will be i can be responsible for getting the money together and getting it to them.

Decision Time, Guys!...

...Called David this AM @ the track. He called me back and I explained that we wanted to rent the track privately for a day. I told him there was a show planned and the thing most everyone wants is plenty of track time.

Now, here's where the questions begin:

Do we want it closed to the public? ie, spectators.
- i told him we definitely want to be the only ones racing.
- i wouldn't mind spectators, it would help the track's $

Do we want concessions?
- i told him i would ask, i know some of us mentioned bringing grills.

And how long will we want to race?
- the price is determined whether or not the lights will have to come
on.

Basically he needs to know other than his track officials, how many employees he needs for this event. so the more things like concessions and lights we cut out, the cheaper the rental.

He is working on some figures and will call me back this evening hopefully.

I wouldnt think spectators to be a problem

concessions.........nah, we can bring a grill for food.

Ask him about alcohol, I dont drink whilst on the track, but some may want to indulge:D

AndI would think what? from 10-11am til dusk? that sound good?
I figure by dusk everyone will be ready to clean up and eat, and play:D

And I think too, jsut my opinion, if everybody is ok with it, anyone with a dodge truck?
Do ya'll want to leave it jsut dodge? or let fords and chevys in?
Personally I would like to see it stay just us:D since the track will more than likely get the $
Now if he lets us collect the $ from trucks that show up, that may be different.

oh and I guess I should resay that, any of the VTCOA members, we do have a few hemis, fords, and chevy guys here.

Anyone else with input?

Thanks dude , you rock:rock:

I agree with the all of this. Let's keep it in the family, shut down at dusk, drink til...

We also talked of giving out 3 racing tropy's and one show trophy, with the show trophy being voted by members:rock:

And depending if any of the other vendors want to contribute, we or well I will try to bring a few things to have something like a raffle for , or maybe something fun to compete in to win;) :p

Eddie and I also talked that people should try to get there thursday evening, he plans on bringing the boat , so we can possibly have a lil fun friday, then saturday at the track , then we figure most will have to head out sunday home.

any other suggestions?:D

UPDATE on track rental...

...David just called. Here goes:

April 12th is still a great date, I say we nail it down!

The track can be open to public spectators and they will probably charge like $5 per person.

We (VTCOA) can determine who races.

We are renting the track so, alcohol is our choice, so BYOB!

We can do our own cooking and drinks.

When it gets closer to the date, they are willing to hype the event up a little on their website to get the public's attention.

He did mention grabbing the public's attention by advertising a Dodge Ram pick-up that is JET powered, if we want it to make a few passes(can't hurt)

We can race from around 9am until dark(we can still negotiate the times)

Okay, for a grand total of $ 2000.

What do yall think?

It,s a little too far off for me yet,BUT,
I would love to be part of this.
