Jeff I beleive said he would have preference to win one of thoseIn the Registry Jeff spoke of the pre 11/03 build but I'm not remembering what he said about them. But this is definitely during the transition - I'm going to look into it
Jeff still isn't postingJeff I beleive said he would have preference to win one of those
Yes it did. Maybe ordered with those wheels
Maybe being a 2003 knock sensors were not mandatedJust found out there are 3 versions of gen3 blocks. 2003, 2004 have no knock sensors therefore no wiring. Mine has knock sensors with no wiring that has had a few people ask why they are disconnected. 2005 has knock sensors.
Nope !Jeff still isn't posting![]()

how many KM on the odometer? The current motor is an 2005 motor. My truck is 2003. So it has already had a motor change.
Beginning to think it's the idler pulley next to the PS pump.Cool .. just don’t poke your ear out![]()
Does it quiet down spraying WD 40 on it ?Beginning to think it's the idler pulley next to the PS pump.
Knock , knock ?Mine has no knock sensor
@AMS3 This is waaaaay out there and a total guess BUT i remember the harmonic balancer bolt loosening issue with these trucks. Could be something to check into just to rule it out since you mention that pulley -Beginning to think it's the idler pulley next to the PS pump.
That’s a good thing to check .. I believe it was on the 2004’s early trucks ..@AMS3 This is waaaaay out there and a total guess BUT i remember the harmonic balancer bolt loosening issue with these trucks. Could be something to check into just to rule it out since you mention that pulley -

I haven't tried that yet. Wasn't sure that would be wise, with overspray or dripping onto the belt.Does it quiet down spraying WD 40 on it ?
Do you know the torque value? Hadn't thought of this, but thanks for bringing it up.@AMS3 This is waaaaay out there and a total guess BUT i remember the harmonic balancer bolt loosening issue with these trucks. Could be something to check into just to rule it out since you mention that pulley -

So I have a new "need". I think my PS pump is on it's last legs. Fluid is at correct level, but it's making that noise like it's low. Does anyone know the P/N for the pump and hoses? Since I have a little over 103K on the motor, I'm just going to go back with OEM hoses. Any input from ya'll, is valued. That’s a good thing to check .. I believe it was on the 2004’s early trucks ..
130 ft lb is what I found. I also saw 250 mentioned not sure if that varies bt year or what - There's an online manual here on the forum I would definitely check that to be sureDo you know the torque value? Hadn't thought of this, but thanks for bringing it up.
It’s never been a problem and has been a common practice forever at garages … spraying all the rubber undercarriage bushings was always done during oil changes and lubes .. Belts are no problem at all and WD -40 was preferred over belt dressings . It doesn’t last very long on the belt but will quiet down belt and pulley noises initially..I haven't tried that yet. Wasn't sure that would be wise, with overspray or dripping onto the belt.
