Blackviper Engine Build

Have you noticed less heat on the intake manifold. ?

Could you drive it for a 30 mins and shoot it with a temp gun, I could do the same and we could compare.

Are you going to install a bypass cooler??

hey ike, the other day when i drove lovethistruck roe 10 we popped the hood after a lil 20 min ride and the blower was cool to the touch.

MAybe your meth is not working?

Jay, the water temperature on the out side of the intercooler is 98 degress while ambient is 84. So about 15 degrees hotter than ambient. This holds true unless I'm in traffic. Then it will shoot up to 111 or so. If I kick the fans on, it will bring it right down again. I have given the bypass cooler some thought but I've done enough modding at least for now. I need to do the trans and then I'll take a break for a while. At least those are my intentions.

Just went through the entire thread after having popped in here and there a while back.

Looking at the engine build and slowly getting to the finished product was like being there....it was simply awesome and made my heart beat fast....I'm not kidding, it was exciting! Now this is hotrodding at it's ultimate!!! Like Prof said.

Congratulations on all your hard work, and thanks for sharing so much of it that we could be in on it from far away. Would love to get to meet so many of you guys some day and see the trucks in person. Cool seeing the afterparty, too.

Thanks for a great time....looking forward to your dyno run!!!

:congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

I just have a quick question. How much total have you spend under the hood? And those 24's look like they were mint for this truck. Nice job on the whole project.

George,You have done an amazing job on this project.Cant wait to see the dyno numbers.Baddast 10 around for sure!!!!

Thank you sir.

The aftercooler you added won't show up in the water temp, that is controlled by the t-stat and fans.

The difference would be in the intake temp. There would be less due to the aftercooler absorbing the heat.

Jay, I have a water temperature sensor on the outlet hose of the aftercooler. That's what I was refering to in my previous post. There is no thermostat in the way. Just a water reservoir and fans on the heat exchanger.

Christmas came early. It's already at the paint shop and I should have it on by the end of the week. I gotta say it's almost ready for paint right out of the box. Cudos to Stinker.

Nope! With all the rain we had, I didn't put enough miles on it. It should be on the dyno in the next couple of weeks.

Hey George, how close are ya till that beast hits the dyno:dontknow: ? Happy new year and all the beast in 2010! Mine (fingers crossed) should be fired up tomorrow!:burnout:

I got 320 break-in miles so far. I was out of town for 9 days and now I've been using it as my daily driver weather permitting. I'd like to get as close as possible to 1000 miles before the dyno day. Happy New Year!

OK,why so many break in miles?

I would think, with everything he's been through with this project, he wants to be extra sure. Plus, I think his engine builder recommends it.:)

That correct Santeen. Laz from Mesa Balancing recommends 1000 to 1500 miles for break-in. After all this time, it would make no sense rushing to get a number and suffer a major catastrophe. Better to be safe than sorry.
