I understand that,I was just curious. I was thinking about that with the break in,but then was thinking too that what is better to break it in by driving it or thres alot of builders that go right from a full build to strapping it on the dyno right from zero miles on them and running them on the dyno:dontknow: ,I'm just curious on what way is better and why??:dontknow: ,I'm doing the same thing with mine by putting some miles on it first but I gotta break the new tranny in too,Thanks in advance for the info:rock:
 
A lot of people say break the cam in 20 mins and run it like you will run it for life. Don't break it in had then start hammering on it....

these trucks have roller cams, you dont need to do a 20 min break in
 
Most builders now will suggest 500-1000, for a couple reasons, rings are different than they used to be for one.

but it also takes away liability guys from the builder.

thats one reason I was worried about blackviper sticking it straight on a dyno, his builder is very very strick on a good 1000 miles and will not warrranty anything, if it doesnt have a good breakiin, and really do you want to risk 15-20k jsut because your foot is heavy?:D

The weather finally broke today and I got the truck all spruced up. I will be going to the local car show this afternoon after I put some more miles on it.

My builder told me 1,000 when I had mine built 2 years ago...he used hardened racing rings that took about 10,000 to finally seat....burnt a qt of oil about every 400 miles....now I can go 2,000 and not burn a drop...almost zero blowby..

Jorge. Which local car show are you going to?
 
It is at Betty's Burgers on US1 and 104st. There is a car show there the first Saturday of every month. I got there a little late and couldn't find a decent spot.
 
I'm like 10 minutes from there. Post up next time you're going and I'll head out there.:)

Update. 400 miles and counting.

By the way, I saw 11 lbs of boost last night at half throttle. It seems like the Roe blower will keep up with the race heads and build.

I don't think I'll see anymore than 15 lbs of boost. I have a smaller pulley than the one that I'm currently running if need be.

Great throttle response but then it falls off. I can't say how hard it will pull. The conservative tune is rich and has no timimg advance after half throttle.

My gauge reads 14-15 at WOT, but it's really only 11-12:dontknow:
