Too hot for the track.

You guys should have moved to Hooters for a drivers meeting.

You know how it is you get caught up in this game...you know that a 140+ degree track temp will make the surface greezzzyy....and the 108 degree air temp will kill your power..but you go out there and run anyway.....

We didn't get all dressed up for nothin'.....

In the end we beat our trucks up for no reason and had a blast doing it...

Seriuolsy though this track is terrible..I made 2 runs in 4 hours...I spun all the way to the 1/8th mile and the time slip on my 2nd run failed...how do you like waiting 2 hours for a run and then have your time slip say you trapped at 26mph....?......

26....?.....I wasn't driving Uniboy's truck.....?

Well it's good to see that it was worth the time and expense for them to move the track. Sounds like they really messed up a good thing. Really wish I could have made it out, next time for sure.

That's good information Mike as we were scheduled to do some test-n-tune with the funny car at the end of the month. We may have to rethink that.

Mike still pulled a mid 12 sec 1/4 ... in the heat and smoking his slicks down the track..some really good driving from him and Mas...the rest of us have some work to do...
Cheers J.T.

For what it is worth Jack the Famoso track is like glass.....I know that is haul for you.....

Anything would be better than fontana, shit with the long waits, heat, its a no brainer why a 2am 30min street racin session seems a hell of alot funner than the track. I might even still be able to get insurance coverage should the worst happen. ..........i guess i'm still pissed that my truck peg legs, hits 215deg at the end, and that i didnt get to open my cut outs at the track. Makes no sense...kind of like "non-dairy creamer"

Ferrari's new Frankenpipes looked pretty good....nice cut outs....home made flanges etc....sounded good too.....

Weird from a guy that took an hour to change his tires....?

Thanks Mike, If the track is that bad it will not work for what we need to do. We are doing some chasis tuning. The motor combination is better than what we had last year. We need to get at least a good leave and 1/8 mile pass to get the motor loaded hard enough to get data. So it sounds like it would be a waste of time for us to go there unless something drastic changes.

Sh*t, we desperatly need a 1/4 mile dragstrip in the SD area. The cost of land in SoCal is just crazy expensive nuts.

Irwindale has the best prep only 1/8 mile but if 1/8 mile is all you need for your data it could be a good replacement for Famoso...I see a few cars running sub 6 sec 1/8's there

I had a blast yesterday, hope to repeat it soon. Next time I hope to actually enjoy my b-fast :))). The heat did bring us terrible times, and may be to blame for the poor track prep (maybe), but its still cool to hang out with the guys. Here are some pics, hope you like.

Nice pics man, looks like you guys had a good turnout and from what's been said it sounds like fun was had by all. One question though, do they not sell trucks in any colors besides red or silver in California? They (DC) must have saved all the best colors for the rest of the country...:dontknow:  :dontknow:

Some of us don't want to look like we are driving a Coors can from the 60's. :D
