And they(children) should definitely receive treatment,but,if it weren't for the homosexuals powerful lobbyists that get lots of money funneled into AIDS research,they MIGHT stop and consider that their lifestyle is self destructive.

They MAY truly be born that way (I can't accept this view) or they may have made a series of wrong choices that led them into that life,or they may have been traumatized as a child.I personally believe that we all have a choice to make concerning everything in life and using the "I was born this way and have no choice" is just an excuse.

u have some good points but i do disagree about the gay issue,i think they are born that way,its not like i'm gonna wakeup some morning and say gee i wonder if i should suck a dick today,consider that there are plenty of foods we dont like including sperm,what i do think is that we are programmed at an early age to accept something or not accept,that being said one of the first things we learn is religion and of course after that we get a course of whats right and wrong according to that religion,gay seems to be taboo in most religions,me being brought up catholic and being forced togo to a catholic school as a kid i learned a valuable lesson,i can sin all week and be forgivin on sat and sunday(since i had togo to mass on both those days!
now what i find interesting is that being gay is a sin and everyone will march against it call people names and murder people over it yet all the other sins arent so bad,really i dont think one sin is any better or worse than another if u follow this rule yet people catagorize sins ,silly in my book ,in the end i dont follow what i was taught because it really promotes hatred towards others when no matter what we are all different and unique ,just because we dont agree with ones lifestyle doesnt mean it wasnt meant tobe that way

Having been born in Hollywood, Ca....... the former gay capital of the USA, and having lived in SoCal for over 40 years (Palm Springs area too)... I have quite alot of experience interacting with gay folks...

I also have a strong opinion that I'd like to share.......

They are born that way and/or develop a gay propensity from a very early age. They are not just a bunch of pervs who are just too whacked out for normal sex ala Errol Flynn..... Well, in general any way...

They are (as a group) not the prototypical raging queens that strut flamboyantly down the Sunset Strip (or Castro District) in a feather boa and high heels... Many of them do not have speech impediments or wave their hands all over when they speak.... Many of them wouldn't be recognized as a homosexual if they were dressed in drag in a Gay Pride parade... (well, maybe...)

The point is that they conduct themselves without nuance when interracting with straights in the business world and hum drum everyday life....

I really got an eye opener when we bought our house in La Quinta, Ca.... The real estate agent was gay...... Looked like the typical late 40's California surfer.... Tan jeans, topsiders etc.... But as queer as a three dollar bill....

I gotta admit, Lynette and I just loved this guy to death.... He was the kinda guy you'd love to have as a next door neighbor.... A real fkn Boy Scout... Helpful, hysterically funny, knowledgable, intuitive, intellectual... I mean, I loved this fkn guy... he was just a great human being....

It really made me a bit uptight with myself regarding the occasional quippy cracks I've made regarding these little bitches...... (oops, there I go again.... )

But seriously, I don't agree with gay marriage, special rights for gays or any of the many other hot button gay issues..... And I sure as hell don't understand what makes a man attracted to another man..... ('cept maybe for that little minx, Mike Brady........ you little vixen... ) But I do know that these are people who despite their eccentricities still deserve the same kind of caring, deference and respect that we should afford to every other human being on the planet....

Ya gotta be good to 'em......... It's only right....

People are, as they are.... I accept people this way. :dontknow: I am actually quite close to a few males of the "strange relation". :dontknow: ALL of my friends are "cool" (you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with).... I would place my (gay) friends as high in character as most of the people on this forum. :rock:

But, the origin of this tendency is, to this day, unclear.... :dontknow: Some say that they were born this way... some say not. I guess it all boils down to "up-bringing".... There are arguments on BOTH sides of the subject.

I can't see how taking all their posessions and locking them up is the best way to "help" them.

If they steal,arrest them for that.If they wreck while intoxicated,charge them with that.The drugs should be destroyed if found,but the mere posession of them should not even be an issue.

From my side of life ,I have always looked on forfeiture laws as legalized theft by law enforcement.My personal view of "The Law" in general is that it's sole function should only be to protect a citizens rights to Life,Liberty,and Property.It should not be used to protect a citizen from himself,such as helmet laws and seat belt lawsIf those actions could impact on another individual,then they might be justified.However they affect the person making the choice,not others,so the laws are unjustified.

I don't think we have the same understanding of the laws on forfeiture. Forfeiture laws were never intended to apply to the casual self indulging user of weed. It may have come to that point in some jurisdictions, but not were I work.

The forfeitures that I see are from the big boys. Drug runners who are selling and distributing. Rehibilitation has NOTHING to do with forfeiture in their case. It's all about punishment and deterence.

Where drug DEALERs are concerned, I could care less if they ever get a chance at rehabilitation. They have made a conscious choice to adversely affect the lives of MANY and they deserve to pay the price for making that choice.

But, the tendency (even in California) is to seize assets for some poor schlub who gets popped with a couple ozs.....

Bigtime dealers, as I said before, guys who get popped with a beener bag and 16 ozs made up inside...... Fine, it's obvious he's selling... (albeit lower eschelon) and I guess the laws the law...... even if I think it's a bad law.... cops still have to enforce it...
