Feb 9th and 10th @ Famoso

Great Arnie! See you there. Gates open at 7am, but racing is scheduled 10am-5pm. I'll call SRTBrad and maybe we can meet up for breakfast then get there about 9am. Will you be needing a jack or anything?

Breakfast sounds good. I will be running street tires so no jack. Unless I get some Drag Radials by Friday will see. But if you happend to have a extra helmet I can borrow just in case they ask me for one.

I have a set of drag radials you can borrow. You will need some smaller lug nuts as the factory ones won't work, get 10, we'll meet at my house and load the wheels and jack into your truck, then head out....pm me your phone number and we'll co-ordinate.

I might be there Sunday for the Import Face Off event. Couple of low 10 second Honda's i helped put together are going and we missed Arizona race last month because of Rain.

Jerry's first run against Arnie was Trainman gets the win at 11.71 @117.15 compared to Armies time of 13.3 @ 105.9 mph. Arnie is using DR's and he said it helped him shave almost a whole second off.

Nice!! Trainmans trap speeds always amaze me:burnout:

I didn't know the DR's would make that much of a difference. It felt good to have a good run.

Da was great today, all day, so I'm a little disapointed with my times. I tried a few real aggressive starts and spun a bit too much, track wouldn't quite hold 4600rpm today, so the best 60' times were leaving at about 4,000-4,200. Went back to the Gen I JTS Venom shifter and made all 5 passes without a missed shift. 5 runs as follows:

Run 1: 10:30am, 50 degrees, DA 70', 60' 1.609, 1/8th 7.487 @ 94.45, 1/4 mile 11.710 @ 117.15.
Run 2: 11:30 am, 52 degrees, DA 193', 60' 1.619, 1/8th 7.499 @ 93.92, 1/4 mile 11.747 @ 116.63.
Run 3: 1:02 pm, 53 degrees, DA 286', 60' 1.729 (tried 4800 rpm), 1/8th 7.634 @ 91.38, 1/4 mile 11.874 @ 117.21.
Run 4: 3:10 pm, 55 degrees, DA 432', 60' 1.623, 1/8th 7.492 @ 91.22, 1/4 mile 11.753 @ 116.31.
Run 5: 4 pm, 54 degrees, DA 367', 60' 1.654(tried the right lane, plus 3 clicks softer on the QA1's, 4500 rpm), 1/8th 7.579 @ 90.35, 1/4 mile 11.828 @ 116.14.

Runs 1,2 and 5 were with my 91-100 tune, runs 3 & 4 were with my 91-109 tune.

I don't know if there are some other issues going on with the truck, but it seems I just can't get back into the 11.60's, perhaps the plugs are getting old, maybe the engine is getting a little tired. I guess I have picked the right time to start ordering parts for the rebuild. We may do a compression check before installing the Gen IV heads, and I may end up doing rods and pistons at that time.....as. long as it is down. Anyway not a bad day...5 runs in the 11's....no missed shifts.....some great video......I think I'll take the Cadillac CTS V out tomorrow, just to see what it will do absolutly pure stock, tires and all.

Thanks again Brad!!!!! And Congrats to Arnie, his first pass today was a full second better than his personnal best (14.3 down to a 13.376 @ 105.89). He even had a couple of passes in the 106+ range. He had a great day....he's already wanting my headers when I start my rebuild. Great seeing you Arnie.

How did I miss this

Very Nice

I just digitized and uploaded the video to the editing computer. We have some footage that Wifey will LOVE!!! It will be a few days before 1 of the videos is completed and on the net to view. Arnie did really well and was really getting good at launching with the DR's.

Look forward to it
