Da was great today, all day, so I'm a little disapointed with my times. I tried a few real aggressive starts and spun a bit too much, track wouldn't quite hold 4600rpm today, so the best 60' times were leaving at about 4,000-4,200. Went back to the Gen I JTS Venom shifter and made all 5 passes without a missed shift. 5 runs as follows:
Run 1: 10:30am, 50 degrees, DA 70', 60' 1.609, 1/8th 7.487 @ 94.45, 1/4 mile 11.710 @ 117.15.
Run 2: 11:30 am, 52 degrees, DA 193', 60' 1.619, 1/8th 7.499 @ 93.92, 1/4 mile 11.747 @ 116.63.
Run 3: 1:02 pm, 53 degrees, DA 286', 60' 1.729 (tried 4800 rpm), 1/8th 7.634 @ 91.38, 1/4 mile 11.874 @ 117.21.
Run 4: 3:10 pm, 55 degrees, DA 432', 60' 1.623, 1/8th 7.492 @ 91.22, 1/4 mile 11.753 @ 116.31.
Run 5: 4 pm, 54 degrees, DA 367', 60' 1.654(tried the right lane, plus 3 clicks softer on the QA1's, 4500 rpm), 1/8th 7.579 @ 90.35, 1/4 mile 11.828 @ 116.14.
Runs 1,2 and 5 were with my 91-100 tune, runs 3 & 4 were with my 91-109 tune.
I don't know if there are some other issues going on with the truck, but it seems I just can't get back into the 11.60's, perhaps the plugs are getting old, maybe the engine is getting a little tired. I guess I have picked the right time to start ordering parts for the rebuild. We may do a compression check before installing the Gen IV heads, and I may end up doing rods and pistons at that time.....as. long as it is down. Anyway not a bad day...5 runs in the 11's....no missed shifts.....some great video......I think I'll take the Cadillac CTS V out tomorrow, just to see what it will do absolutly pure stock, tires and all.
Thanks again Brad!!!!! And Congrats to Arnie, his first pass today was a full second better than his personnal best (14.3 down to a 13.376 @ 105.89). He even had a couple of passes in the 106+ range. He had a great day....he's already wanting my headers when I start my rebuild. Great seeing you Arnie.
