well i tried out the M&H 12/16 slicks ran OK not great, needs gears and now a clutch(first pass it was pretty much toast) best 60" was 1.86 but i think it's mainly cause of the clutch tires hook GREAT and i'm looking forward to running it with the gears and a clutch(it's stock so i knew it might be a problem)
12.47(first pass pretty much killed the clutch 1.89 60')http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6bN9_pXsLg

12.51 pass with the 1.86 60'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOJSlZyD3uc

what clutch do yall recomend? i'm thinking the whole kit from JMB

Centerforce with a new stock flywheel. It looks like you really hooked with those slicks.
that was the setup i was leaning towards:D they hook really well the 60' times don't reflect how well because of the lack of clutch/gear/power

Honestly bro I would wait and see what that the double disc viper clutch is gonna cost. I just did the center force with the whole jmb. Justin kit is great cause it has all you need minus new pressure plate bolts, flywheel bolts, torque specs ,and clutch aligment tool. however now that I got a good look at the centerforce I dont really see anything special besides the centrifgal weights on it.

I currently have Justin upgrade clutch kit, but don't really like the Center Force all that much. When its time to replace the clutch I'm gonna go back to the stocker, but stay with the upgrade master/slave.

think you'll be in the same boat as me with a stocker don't you? your pushing more HP than me with pretty much the same amount of tire:dontknow:

Justin...what was your tire pressure, launch RPM and the speeds at the 1/8th and 1/4 mile? It sounded like you got 2nd gear rubber on the second run, nice job!

first few passes were at 20psi(thats the first vid) and i dropped to 16 for the second vid, 1/8th mph was 87mph, not much change in the 1/8mile looks like i lost most of my time on the second half of the track i did on one run go thru the traps in 3rd gear and it hit the limiter right after the traps but i don't like doing that, launch was about 3200 on the first pass and on that last one was a 3500 clutch drop....i just notice you can see the smoke come out from under the truck on the first pass from the clutch

Hey nice seeing you yesterday you forgot to mention we were running into a 30mph headwind and DA was +2043 my 12.89 corrected to a 12.58, that wind was HORRIBLE.

Yep...but I will try to find some calipers that are already shaved..or I may replace with some aftermarket ones. I have an appointment with BBK tomorrow (weather permiting) for the new 67mm throttle body. I think they are going to use my truck as the pattern for the throttle linkage needed to make the 67mm work on our trucks. I may not be able to cross the summit on I-5 if its snowing in the mountains tomorrow, as I am about 110 miles north of the LA area.
To answer your question, John at M&H is right here in Bakersfield and he is recommending the Nostalgia 12:00 / 16 for me because the Drag Radial just won't hold with my present setup.
Did you run the stock radial tire on the front during your runs? John at M&H said I will need to run a biased ply tire in the front. How was the handling on the top end with 16LBS in the slicks?

yeah i started grinding calipers wed. 9am and finished saturday 1pm:argh: handling was WAY better than my old setup with 12-13psi in the rear and yeah i'm still running the factory wheel/tire on the front, and just get some snow chains for the truck then you can make it:D

Wind correction is a tough one to do accurately.
The above posts might help with the other stuff.
Scroll down in that thread, Stinker has a sea-level track converter that is easy to use.
