First 1/8 mile times. Not happy

Thanks for the response. Truck has 21000 miles all the fluids have been changed in the last 1000 miles. It was at the trans shop about 1000 miles ago, to rinstall the upgraded gm solenoid and they said the band adjustment was good. The tranny seemed to be shifting good.
I checked the link and it said the DA last night was 1980 feet. Corrected is a 13.799 ET. Which makes me feel a little better. But i would like to have ssen the times on my slip

Ahhh see, I thought that you were most like in a bad DA. 1980 is pretty bad, with some better DA and a 1.8-1.9 60ft you will see a big difference in your times.

If it was the weather, then can live with that. I'll know more once I run at Holt next week. Unless the weather up there is humid as shit too.

Our eighth mile track finally got a tming system up. Now I wish they hadn't. I was expecting somewhere between an 8.5 - 8.8. What I got was a 9.0 - 9.3. I can't understand why. Any input would be appreciated. I was running DR's and it was hooking fine.

dont worry about those times santeen the heat will have a huge affect on the way and times you run.

in the colder areas you could drop as much as .7 tenths

no,,I have only driven the car like 5 times, I just put in a new ratchet shifter and I got my shift light to where I shift only at 5 grand. I have not pushed the car yet and dont plan on it next weekend,,I am still working out a bunch of kinks. I will take all my ass whoopins in good fun,,no excuses. I have not driven the car with my new shifter yet so I will probaly be slow,,,slow,,,slow,,,slow

Next time you go to the track have someone record your launch from the rear so you can see what your ass end is doin at launch. You may think your doin good but blowin out the tires and not feeling it. I thought I did good on my 12.6 but my buddy told me I blew out 1-3 but I didnt feel the spin. Crank the caltracs a bit more also. Just a thought.

Next time you go to the track have someone record your launch from the rear so you can see what your ass end is doin at launch. You may think your doin good but blowin out the tires and not feeling it. I thought I did good on my 12.6 but my buddy told me I blew out 1-3 but I didnt feel the spin. Crank the caltracs a bit more also. Just a thought.

That is my problem. I don't have a sensitive foot that allows me to feather it the way it should.

This will be some committment (financial) to improve, but I'm tickled pink with my Suncoast 48RE and converter. The shifts and lockup will snap your neck. I haven't taken mine to the dragstrip, but I've got to believe this trans and converter would help the times.

If it was a stick shift, I wouldn't be so worried. But, Being an automatic, I can't do much but play with launching rpm. And, like I said, I don't think it will go much more than 3000 rpm. The truck feels like it's running fine. A/F ratio is around 12.0 - 12.3 through the entire run. I don't think there's much more that I can do performance wise without going F.I. Like I said, any advice is appreciated. Thanks guys.
