FREAKIN CAMERA

Tony.........how about one of these? Not sure where you'd find them but The Antiques Roadshow would be a good place to start. :D :D :D

Seriously though, I like my Sony DSC-P200. REAL simple to use and perfect for keeping the car. It's my oldest camera. I enjoy taking photos of cars and this has never let me down. In my opinion, good photos come from the eye of the shooter. For the most part, most point and shoot every day folks can get away with any decent camera, functions just fine tune things. I've always had great success with Sony. Canon are also very reptuable cameras. IMO, go to your local shop and grab a few of these 2 brands in your price range that you like and see how you like the feel of them, then pay!! :p

You cant go wrong with the Sony or Canon, mentioned above.

Tony, if you have a "real" camera store around ya, I would try looking there. Best Buy and all the other chain stores are nice and convenient but they don't specialize in cameras. The salespersons should be able to meet all your needs and offer up suggestions to meet your budget although you may have to make a trade off or two concerning features or performance. And you should be able to strike some good deals too. Here's several from one of my local camera shops:

Also, make sure you save some $$$ for a memory card. I'd budget another $50 to $100 for a 8 to 16 gig memory card. If I was in the market I would look at the Canon products, SD-780.

Tony this is going to sound off base but I have a Minolta a Nikon and I have a Kodak M893IS that just works the best of all of them.

The Kodak is super easy to use and it takes great pics with ease of use.
It I am sure has been superseded by another model as it is about a year old.
This camera only cost 140.00. My wife and one of my daughters have even cheaper Kodak cameras that take great pics are easy to use and download .
My buddy JD just spent 400.00 for a Nikon and it is a little smaller than this camera but does not take as good a picture. This Kodak has great battery life and I have also used it to take videos and it works OK for that also.
I will probably get a lot of flack for recommending the Kodak but it is cheap, takes good pics, is easy to use and it has not broken or done anything bad at all.

I will not buy another 300.00-400.00 digital camera when I can get something that works well for cheap.

It takes 8.3 MP but I have it set at 6 megapixels as I can down load straight to the forum without any editing. It is so user friendly.

another vote for the Kodak. got their C875 refurbished model from their store.
if i can remember to use it, it does a good job.

You might also consider one with a wide angle lens. If your going to be taking pictures of cars etc. you won't have to back up as far to get it to fit in the picture. Panasonic makes the TZ4 with 8 mega pixel which is plenty big. You'll have to downsize the picture to be able to post it here anyhow.

I've got the TZ5 and love it. Shoots video too. Stores pictures on standard SD memory cards.

a scrib is a fire cracker that comes in packs of 12 - 10,000. if you break one off the pack you have a scrib. thoes little tiny things you break off are the largest explosive firecracker you can buy in america. m 160's m200's are just that little scrib inside a bigger container.
