yes they can,most of the time it will make noise,like a grinding sound.very unusual for one to go out with out making noise.if its on the front jack the truck up and then pull the tire up and down,if its bad it will have a lot of play in it.flchub said:

Clint you can also just leave the truck on the ground and pull the tire towards you at the top and at the sides...if you can feel play or some movement you may have a bearing going bad...if you don't feel movement, drive it for 10 or 15 minutes and then see if the hub is hotter than the one on the other side...excessive heat is a sure sign that the bearings are bad...

Take it back for an alignment again. You might have hit a pot hole or curb.

there was a recall on my 06 for front wheel bearings
tire pressure will make it pull my nephew had one go out on the front end a few weeks ago and said steering wheel started shaking back and forth real bad.
