front wheel bearing

can a wheel bearing go bad without making any noise ?
if so what are the symptoms
yes they can, most of the time it will make noise, like a grinding sound.very unusual for one to go out with out making noise.if its on the front jack the truck up and then pull the tire up and down,if its bad it will have a lot of play in it.

Clint you can also just leave the truck on the ground and pull the tire towards you at the top and at the sides...if you can feel play or some movement you may have a bearing going bad...if you don't feel movement, drive it for 10 or 15 minutes and then see if the hub is hotter than the one on the other side...excessive heat is a sure sign that the bearings are bad...

What makes you think you have a problem?
i'm getting a really bad pull to the right,if i let go of the steering wheel it pulls hard to the right even at low speeds.

i drove about 400 miles on it,thought it might be a tire psi problem ,but the tires seemed fine.

also had the tires rotated not too long ago

i had a 4 wheel alignment done in dec

i have already replaced the drivers side wheel bearing, but it made noise and pulled,i'm not hearing any noise from the right front bearing:dontknow:

earl, thx for the info i'll check that in the am

tire pressure will make it pull my nephew had one go out on the front end a few weeks ago and said steering wheel started shaking back and forth real bad.

You might want to check the brakes for a locked up caliper

Throw a few sacks of horse feed in the passenger side seat. There is probably just a large weight shift going on here.:dontknow:  :thefinger:
