Hello-

FSTJACK shipped me one of his ported throttle bodies to try on my truck. The butterflies are the standard size but there has been EXTENSIVE work in blending and shaping the body itself. A work of art in my opinion...and I was anxious to try it out even though the K&N cold air kit (my very first mod) didn't work out very well at all.

I didn't think the factory t. body seemed all that bad, just looking at it. But I guess it suffers from mass production woes like many things do and the time and cost to "do it right" may have been prohibitive...??...

Anyway, the immediate result was a BIG improvement in throttle response throughout the range. It felt like my truck shed 500+ pounds. Part throttle response on the highway is also WAY up. So, on the butt dyno, it was a passing grade.

On A REAL dyno, it picked up a solid 11 and 11 and surprisingly, even in the low 2000 r.p.m. area, it showed positive gains.

I just thought I would let you know the results...and congrats to Jack for producing a product that really works!

(You know someone woulda posted it..)

Re: Posts 2 and 3...

I just hung up the phone with Jack. He is a very busy guy right now. I asked him if he was producing them again and he wasn't sure if he would have the time for it. If you beg and plead and provide him with untold riches, maybe he would come out of retirement and grant your wish. I.O.W. You would have to ask him...

As far as pictures go, I will see what I can do for ya..but hey! maybe Jack has some he could post up, and that would save me having to pull mine off to take them myself...:marchmellow:

good luck @ da track....... :)

Thanks! I'm going just to watch tonight. We have a 4888 D.A. right now which isn't too bad for here. Enough to muster a high 12 (maybe...) but I'd bet on a 13.00 if I was racing...

I'll post the dyno sheet as soon as I can. We are also in the middle of a move so...general chaos..but I will do that a.s.a.p.

Congrats Jack... You have to come out of retirement for this.... :)

Please, Please, Please, Can I have One Daddy.. Please, Can I One, Please...

I promise to use it against Rustangs, SVTs, and Ricers....

Please, Can I have one, Can I, Can I....

:) :) :)

Jack, are you reading this????

Nice results Ronnie. Wonder how much of that 11/11 was helped by your heads. If I could get that kind of throttle response (like shedding 500 lbs), I'd probably be down for picking one up.

I don't know. I have a couple of other things I want to try as well and then get some "final" dyno numbers. But right now the truck stuff is kind of back-burner as I am in the middle of a move...

jack probably want do any in the near future, right now he is busy buying an building houses,
and with his truck
we tried a year ago to get this going and nobody believed the results so he let it drop.
I can talk with him about it , but its very doubtful he wil have any time

You are right Stink, and that's what we yakked about on the phone, Jack is a busy guy.

As far as throttle "response" goes, you should expect that if the actual throttle openings were larger (more surface area), but in this case, the stock butterflies are used. I really was surprised when I installed it, just how much difference it made to the truck. The dyno numbers proved an increase but the improvement in the overall power on tap (vs. throttle movement) is the one that is tough to measure....

I've always felt these trucks (esp. with the auto trans) lacked good throttle response. Jack's ported t.b. went a long way toward improving that. The only trouble is- Now I want to start modding again!! :D

P.S. Is there anyone else out there that went the Striker route (Nathan's group buy) and stayed N.A. that wants to compare notes??

thats what I noticed when we did the one on the QC, tons of better throttle response:burnout: much more crisp than stock.
