Thanks for the info.

I have another question.

So buying this handheld programmer for an R/C the only thing I am going to gain is better Air/Fuel Mapping and Ignition Timing? Am I correct on saying that?

For you RC guys.............my DC tune rocks huge!!!! It was the single best mod I have done to my truck. But, I feel it works because of the other mods I have already done....ie intake and cat delete. The truck pulls way harder now. For $450 you can have your stock computor flashed...........well spent money IMO.

The controller just lets you do the flashing yourself. Either way your getting the same program (the tune you order that is).

Hope that helps.

We are still converting some of the programs to the SCT, the QC trucks are next. I am contacting all those who have called as the programs are done.

Thanks!

.............. yeah, they WORK!

Quick

I need the porno description, cause I am NEED/WANT it bad! Dan said mine shipped today.

SCT received from DC. 91 octane tune successfully uploaded. Big difference! Truck will absolutely roast the rear tires. Long bark when hitting second. Water temps and oil temps operate at the desired 170 degree. Chris needs to fix the 91 octane tune, as the oil pressure guage is not working on current version. After my test ride, i filled up with gas, drove 25 highway miles home, and, averaged 15.5mpg. I normally get 12.0 to 12.2. However, before I was able to actually upload the tune, I did run into some minor problems. I had to update the firm ware on the SCT unit itself. SCT shipped my unit to DC with version 1.16. Guys, this was a very easy fix. I downloaded two things (free) from SCTLFASH.COM, first, the updated firmware (version 1.17) and, second, some software to interface my PC to the SCT. I knew there was a problem with the unit as delivered by SCT, and not anything DC had done. DC does not control the user interface on the SCT, merely the tune file, and, I was getting ECU unock failure message while trying upload the DC provided 91 octane tune. This failure was in the user interface. Any way folks this is one kick ass piece of technology. Chris at DC is doing a great job, and, is working on an updated tune to fix the oil pressure problem. I confirmed that it is isolated to the custom tune itself by loading the stock tune back the ECU, and oil pressure works. I am expecting an email any time with attached files from Chris. I have requested a more aggressive 93 octane tune and 100 octane race tune.

You will need to get some software loaded and configured in order DIY your SCT. Its all free, but, you will need to some internet searching to find everything.

If your SCT flash is not on the latest/greatest firmware (v.1.17) here is what you need to do.

Download and install 'live update' software by going to http://www.sctflash.com/downloads.php once their select DCX XCalibrator 2 - 9550, click submit download live update software, then download firmware update. Install then run live update on your pc. Use the live update software to download and update the firmware for your SCT.

If you want to load a custom tune to your SCT, you will need to unzip a .RAR file. Do a google search and find free winRAR. I never heard of it, but, .RAR is very similar to winzip. You need to be able to unizp a .RAR because your custom tune files will be sent you in as .RAR format. This is not a winzip format!

You wil then need software on your PC called LiveLoad DCX. This sofware is used to download the tune file/s that you just unzipped. As of right now, SCT has not published the live load sofware on their website yet. However, I did find the liveload sofware on SCT Forum page. I found this link http://www.sctflash.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11070. You will see post number 2 contains an attachment containing the liveload.exe. Download, then, install this software you your computer. You will use LiveLoad to interface the custom tune to your SCT device.

Thats all for now.

What exactly is wrong with the oil pressure gauge?

nothing, now. The original tune file received apparently had oil pressure guage turned off.
