Well, I think you guys are still not catching the idea I'm trying to get across. First, I want to achieve this with a street legal truck. I realize that the a/c will not be there, but in all honesty, why not? If memory serves me right, Andy Granitelli did it in a Trans-am, with the A/c, Vintage Air did it, with the A/C on! Also, I'm talking about a 5 mile run, not in the quarter mile. True, I'm going to have to have aroll cage, but we aint talking dirt modified here. I have had many Pro-Street cars with full cages that I would be glad to go get a gallon of milk in, across the town, not down the block. This truck is not my grocery getter and it aint going to be a wanta bee fast truck, I plan on doing it right, but within my goals and parameters that I am setting. Street legal, SC and NOS if need be. The motor built to handle the stress and the trans and rearend done to handle the loads. Airride suspension so when it races it will be scrapping, when its crusin, it can ride high. Also, race wheels and tires will be smooth and skinny. No wide load at 225mph, you need hard and skinny tires. As far as the bodywork, thats what stratigic body braces are for. I aint just dreaming. I have built plenty of race toys in my day and I always plan ahead on paper before I start spending the $$$ I was just in the mood to share my thoughts with you guys to get some constructive input. Some of it has been, some of it not. Thats the way it goes. Give me till the first test run in June, Then we'll see.
