how would u spend your first $1500

are the highflow cats in the sell/buy area what u are talkin about. the used ones. is that stock or after market. i just dont want to get something that isnt maximizing my performance. i am really picky. again doin headers or something crazy its out of the question if it makes another expense a waste.

example if there are some high flow cats someone makes u guys swear by i want to know. i dont want to get some cheapy. sometimes money can equal quality.

u guys have probably noticed i will ask a question even if it has been answered because i want more then one answer from different people.

i have asked on the tunes enough that i am getting a pretty good consistent answer i will probably start with the sct. if i need to get the other things first or all at once i will so, so again i am efficient with my money. no reason to pay money for a tune after every mod when i dont need too.

does anyone have some dynos used as progress after a mod or 2 so i can see what might give what kind of gains. u guys know how it is, sites will claim " o yeah u will get 50hp from this " and its a line of bull under real conditions. i dont want to know what a mod will do in a perfect world, because i know i dont live in one of those.

Stage II for a QC...I have one from Xmetal that I just took off my truck that I need to sell. Or a SCT...other than that you are not going to get much. Its more of a collective thing.

Damn it took me a while to find this thread. There is some good stuff here. For me I gained .2 with the DC flash and about a tenth with the DR. For every 10 hp gained it equals to about a tenth on the track.

Chuck I would say closer to a 20hp increase is worth about a tenth, to much weight to move

I was basing those numbers from time gained at the track with just a flash. Flash is about 20-30 hp peak gains?:dontknow: So if you your numbers are closer to mine than I picked up 40-50 peak hp from the flash?:dontknow:

But then again I picked up a lot of low end with the flash too. Thanks for the heads up Carlos. Some more info to stick in noggin:D

FYI...colo kid...Chuck is dead on when he says you pick up alot of low end, the biggest gains are before the curve

rock on. so i caught the sct tuner post. the group buy one. i just went for it so i could get the good price. the 500 bucks for the tuner. i also just got the drop in filter for the intake and as well as a TB. i was told i will happier with the gains off the tb over doin high flow cats off the bat.

the reason i was given was i am gettin more air in and better response. the exhaust might not give me much gain if i got a higher horsepower truck from the factory.( with the idea 382hp with have a bigger gain then 420 )

and i told him that, i of course dont want the loudest truck on the block, so he said to just wait on the cats because it might give me what i am lookin for with the TB alone.

what do u guys think. all i have paid for so far is the drop in air filter and the tuner. if u guys think different on the TB let me know. i am calling in to pay for the TB tomorrow.

i am paying $356 on the thottle body. that sound like a good deal?

oh and i am goin to get a tstat on the way from napa too.

the starting list will be:

drop in air filter- $56
thottle body-$356
sct tuner- $500
170 tstat- 20ish

hows all that sound. let me know. the next upgrade would probably be high flow cats for $289. that would take place of the primarys and dropping the 2nd set of cats.

feedback feedback plz and thx

throttle body won't give you much of a gain.

Absolutely right but it does give you a cosmetic improvement. Some members have also experienced the RPM's to stick between 1000 - 2000 RPM's. I would not put the TB on the 1st list of mods. I would utilize the money elsewhere.

TB wasn't on The List!!! :p

Spend the $ on something else.

k good feedback so far. and the last thing i care about is cosmetics. i like the stock look. i might consider the high flow cats first then. replace the first set with the highflow and then, do what, straight pipe in place of 2nd set?

289 sound like a far price on cats ? and what should i expect install too run. i know all shops are different but price range is fine. i just dont want to ever get takin advantage of. seems like u guys are here too look out for each other

i am told high flow cats so i am not loud and proud right? that in place of 2/4 cats is ok and then deleteing the other 2.

Go for the cats man. It won't be too loud. You won't get any real HP gain from the TB... it just looks good, and I hear you get a better throttle response

Most bang for the buck is a nitrous system and drag radials.....absolutely positively! If you are worried about the tranny i wouldn't spray more than 100 shot.....with tires you should be high 12's

lol u guys and nitrous. that shit sounds scary. i have always been nervous to go anywhere near nitrous. sounds like problems waiting to happen.

As long as you're safe with it, nitrous is an awesome way to go fast. ..

It just sucks when the bottle is empty or not in the truck.

This guy doesn't know his ass from a hole in the wall...and will shove a banana in both:D so don't listen to him.

either put on NOS or just keep saving.
If you don't plan on going FI the SCT or Stage II.
