Last night I was on my way home from work about 4AM crusing in the SRT-10 about 55-60 MPH nothing crazy. The roads were a little wet and it was about 27 degrees out. My girl was way in front of me in her Exploder. I came out of small ramp that takes me to another highway when I felt the rear end start walking on me to the left. I tried to counter steer the truck no luck I was for sure going into the ditch. I was spinning down the road when a last ditch effort like anyone else would do I held my foot on the brakes and braced for impact.
I have to say the brakes saved my ass. I ended up facing the opposite way of traffic with no impact to anything. Since it was 4AM traffic was almost nowhere to be found. I'm sitting there thanking my stars I did'nt wreak when a damn 18 wheeler which seemed to be coming at me like a train was flashing his lights at me. I tried to start the truck and all it did was turn over with no catch. I was for sure the 18 wheeler was going to hit me so I bailed out of the truck in the middle of the highway and ran like I was on fire toward the ditch. The semi missed my truck by what seems like a few inches. After the 18 wheeler went by I hopped back in the truck and tried to start it again. I had to hold the throttle to the floor to start it but she started. I strapped my belt on and was on my way. My girl met me at the light at our exit. She rolls her window down and asked what took me so long to catch up, she did'nt see any of it happen, I smiled at her and said " Had some engine problems" She looks at me like I'm crazy.
I got lucky, very lucky, I learned that these trucks at moments notice in any kind of wet conditions can flip out on you. I'm a pretty good driver and am still learning to drive this truck and do everyday in any condition. I guess I have to go into grandpa mode when I'm driving in cold wet weather.
Anyhow I'm still here. Cheers!
